    The Winter Blues 3
    Collaboration Celebration 8/31/2015 12:00:00 AM
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    THIRD PLACE out of 35 entries is --

    The Winter Blues
    ---Robert J. Lindley

    Winter blew in with a scant little whimper
    Fall skulked away with hardly a peep
    Deep cold, blowing winds fit some's temper
    Yet others they sadden enough to weep!

    Snow brings its beauty and shining charms
    Frigid air sets furry critters about
    Blizzards blasting forth set great alarms
    Where frozen forested cries ring out.

    Nature knows best and gives as she pleases
    Hardest season sets the coming stage
    Death and pain, of which Spring then eases
    Time for each, says the wizened sage!

    Cold chills, hang glisten silent through the night
    Decembers solstice sets the stage northbound
    Jack Frost pretends to be Earth's white knight
    Dark days of winter winds; ice-kiss the ground

    Autumn renews chilling barren vows,
    Wonderland enables the sun on numb
    Icicles form, a voice shared -leaving nature roused
    Winter's blue melodies washed down with rum

    A cold peril storm, enjoying the winter sky
    Frostbitten dawn, desolate sunset of worthlessness
    A leafless desire to intensify nature's supply
    Loss from exposed skin, of hopelessness
    ***
    Snow, Sleet, and hell; patients needing detox
    Atlas Spring gives way to the Viral Equinox

    ~ ~ A Poet Destroyer Collaboration ~ ~
    ----------------------------------------------------

    Contest: Collaboration Celebration- subject- Winter Reflections.
    Sponsor: Poet Destroyer A
    In this collaboration, she (Poet Destroyer) first received my poem -the first half and then wrote the second half to complete the poem .
    Judging was done by her and with the blind judging of two other top poets. The points then added up and places awarded.-Tyr
    -----------------------------------------------------
    ----------------------------------------------------
    Edit--Additional information.

    This shown below was my first submission to her , rejected by Poet Destroyer as being just far too perfect as a complete poem.-Tyr

    Return Of The Bright Red Sun
    (Red- number one )

    The Red Sun had hidden away for some years
    no blood red to inspire with glowing sheen
    Back again, those fiery red crocodile tears
    Love had died, she was only a lonely teen

    Dark days, she cried - please give me Light
    her sobs fell upon deaf ears- apathy reigned
    With no heart, no purpose- no use to fight
    Bleeding heart, torn dress and life stained

    Hiding in a dark and badly painted room
    shadows raced above her small trampled bed
    So nasty, a curse repeated about her doom
    wishing death, she refused to ever be fed

    As sad dark curtains slowly dropped down
    blasting forth a wave of Red Sun light
    Set aglow, the red rose adorning her gown
    Her heart rose to follow this divine sight

    ~A Poet Destroyer Collaboration~

    For Collaboration Celebration...

    p.s.
    I simply could not pass up a chance to do this..

    Now she will soon send me her part to complete the poem.

    edit- update-- This poem deemed to be just too perfect to add to by my collaboration partner. She asked me to write another using Winter as the theme. I did so -she wrote her part....

    Update-- contest results for this contest , poem entered was - The Winter Blues, which took 3rd place..
    My deep feeling is that had we entered this one(the better poem start) and she wrote to it , first place would have been awarded. However , will never know unless it fits into a future collaboration contest theme by her .--Tyr

    Dear Robert,

    Congratulations, this is just a quick notice to let you know that your poem, A Dream Revealed,
    is one of the poems being featured on the ********** home page this week.

    Thanks again and congratulations.

    Sincerely,

    *********
    A Dream Revealed
    A Dream Revealed

    Ages ago on a battlefield I slew my foe
    A warrior that utterly refused to yield
    As blood lay rich upon the cold packed snow
    I took his valiant life , his sword and his shield

    A memory from a cold and distant past
    A dream from a memory darkened by sleepless nights
    A chill sent so very hard and fast
    A flash of many thrilling and honorable fights

    Fleeting whispers sent to cast off doubt
    Of standards now demanded to be cast aside
    Rage , furiously rage against death's final shout
    Dead heroes welcoming no tales of glory and pride

    Hades embraces fallen soldiers that failed the test
    Of virtue, resolve and duty soundly done
    Pride, courage , glory and all the rest
    Pale in comparison to a justice so honorably won.

    Awaken from a sweat soaked dream
    I wondered had I saw another man's fate
    So real, so very real it did seem
    To be the closing of my earthly gate...

    I sent a complaint to admin at my poetry forum, complete with example of my poems having been stolen.
    I asked them to fix it where every poem we have authored clearly displays our name and copyright at the bottom.
    I had expected some bullshit reply but damn-they did it early this morn!
    Even sent a email notifying me and also reminding me not to duplicate or present any information contained in that email.

    Again, "you receive not because you asketh not" falls into play!

    I asked Peter Klatzow three little requests, he happily agreed to all three.
    I asked admin there to apply an automatic copyright notification to all our poems upon posting they did so very next day.
    Damn, maybe make it a triple win-- I think I may just ask my wife for something very special tonight. --Tyr

    HELL-HOUND

    Deep in the darkest pit
    Where anguished screams resound
    Evil thoughts feed the it
    Fanged, demon like hell-hound

    No mercy for those so lost
    Only torture to pay the cost
    Gnawing on its victims with relish
    The monster growls so hellish

    Desperate pleas never heard
    Too late for any praying word
    Looking in deeply is insane
    Here, mercy calls always in vain

    Dark shadows skirt about
    Hell-hound allows no souls out
    Fear forces me to not see
    That fate once was awaiting me

    Distant pits rumble much the same
    Death
    Final victor in this hellish game

    Here it is as it has been presented there...

    As Midnight Moon Shines Upon Her Eyes

    In a dream world where fantasies abound
    shall be where my princess is found.
    Wrapped in her vision an angelic choir
    cherubs singing her heart's desire.

    Her voice soothes every hearing soul
    spreading happiness her daily goal
    As midnight moon shines upon her eyes
    a thought comes to me so very wise.

    Surely she could come to me down here
    easing my hurt, wash away my fear.
    A soft gentle touch to my spirit renew
    help me find a love any man is due.

    In a dream world such fantasies exist
    your heart's desire, anything on your list.

    He Was A Beast In A Dark Lair Unseen

    He was a dragon beast in a dark lair unseen;
    Nights filled with depraved thoughts and deeds;
    Mouth burning with bile from his spleen
    Gatherer, hoarder,and planter of dark seeds!

    A raging beast hiding in a silken cloak;
    Breaker of serenity's gentle and sweet mists;
    His captured females died with pretty necks broke
    With crossed out names on his already dead list!

    Late night, dark streets this villain cruised;
    With blood lusts burning in his tortured mind,
    Pretty victims slashed, beaten and bruised
    So careful to pick the prettiest he could find.

    Satanic power given, he could change forms quick;
    A blink and he could fly with his prey;
    This real power, evil fed was no parlor trick
    Such savage nights cutting his victims his play!

    Unlucky girls lived on to spawn his impish kids;
    The creatures that roam about Halloween night,
    Under his spell each one doing evil as he bids
    Racing into is lair before dawn's saving light!

    He was a beast in a dark lair unseen;
    Nights filled with depraved thoughts and deeds;
    Mouth burning with bile from his spleen
    Gatherer, hoarder,and planter of dark seeds!

    Sunrise, Heaven And Nature Conspire!--By Robert Lindley--United States
    Sunrise, Heaven And Nature Conspire!

    At sunrise, when morn breaks into sweet day
    Darkness, eases into another far lost realm
    Light returns to splendor in its bright way
    Sun-ship glowing, celestial giant at the helm!

    We that rise up to see this wondrous event
    soak in its beauty, holding its glory fast
    Our future embraced and our past thus spent
    each day's memories and hopes sail at last!

    Heaven and Nature conspire to give that gift
    hours await to explore life's great dreams
    Darkness fled, giving again blessed day shift
    full of promises riding magnificent streams!

    At sunrise, when morn breaks into its sweet day
    Earth gives man more time to love, dance and play!

    If the freedom of speech is taken away

    Thanks my fine poetess friend!!
    A first place win and a second place win, not bad at all.
    Getting the second place win was indeed great and I agree with the judge--the poem placed ahead of mine was even better then mine! This new poet, James Inman is the real deal! I've checked out some of his non-contest poems and they are ALL exceptional.
    I was so sure that I'd get first place with my poem until I read his and I knew if he had entered it it would take first place! And so it turned out...I have no problem when beaten fairly. It just when my poems lose to poems that look like a ten year old wrote them and I see the bias in judging there by certain contest sponsors(no integrity-no shame)that I get pissed..-Tyr

    Thanks Balu!! Some contests that I write for I put a little bit more effort(time) into my writing and when I do -most often the poem wins 1st, 2nd or 3rd place. -Tyr

    Two more wins but lost one favorite poet listing. Appears my speaking out against bias and back rubbing there , cost me one poet that favored me..

    James eclipsed me again! lol
    I read his poem, a very fine one it is--about a coin toss between ours in my opinion, so no complaints from me..
    Shadow judges fair... Which is why as she is one of the few that I most often enter her contests, even if the contest requirements or contest theme doesn't particularly inspire me.
