Default How It's Made: Canon Lenses

Wow! Click on "Enter" to see how much work goes into making a modern lens.

It's easier to buy gear than talent.

The "Lens Gallery" section is very interesting as well.

What, they don't just buy them from Nikon and re-sell?

    Who knows.

I wouldn't be surprised if it works both ways. At least for individual lenses, materials, or other components.

It's always interesting to see a factory at work. I visited the Ben Hogan Golf factory many years ago and was amazed at what goes into creating a golf ball.

I was also surprised to see how much space there was in between the actual lens body and the pretty white shell that surrounds it. I wonder if they could incorporate a liquid cooling setup in there once the "global warming" becomes more severe?

I must say, the graphics could have been a lot better. It kind of reminded me of the old film strip films we saw in the 1960s in elementary school. And what's with the way the narrator pronounced process?
