"An Arizona man left his 5-year-old granddaughter alone in the desert with a loaded handgun while he went to get drinks and a cheeseburger, <nobr style="box-sizing: border-box;">investigators</nobr>said Monday.
Maricopa County authorities say 53-year-old Paul Armand Rater is being held on suspicion of two counts of <nobr style="box-sizing: border-box;">child abuse</nobr> and one count of child endangerment.
Rater took his granddaughter for a ride in the desert in his new pickup truck Sunday. He told authorities the vehicle got stuck and they had to walk for help because he left his <nobr style="box-sizing: border-box;">cellphone</nobr> at home.
Rater says he left the girl under a tree with a gun when she couldn't walk anymore.
A helicopter later located the uninjured girl in rough terrain. She was still holding the .45 pistol, Fox 10 reports.
Rater was found eating and drinking at a restaurant."

Hell, he'd move where there aren't any deserts, trust me on that my friend!

Only ever had to repeat a few ass stompings out of over a hundred that I gave out in my long life.
But those few were against truly bad-ass dudes that thought a few weeks training would give 'em the edge next go round, so came back for seconds- all were stomped even more 2nd time. Nobody ever came back for thirds.
And in the times I got my ass defeat(never stomped)- (other than by my older brother), I was smart enough to take my damn lumps and not go back for more! Guy was better-or at least better that night.,

Reputation has its rewards .. In some cases it prevents fools from getting themselves hurt.
Sadly , it also draws bigger fools into wanting to defeat the tough guy to build their own reputation.
