I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

Happy birthday Marines!
Best friend I ever had was a DECORATED KOREAN WAR MARINE, sadly he is now deceased!!
Guy was tough as nails, smart as a whip with principles etched in stone- solid granite.
Very likely, he slowed me down enough in my wild ways to have kept me alive....--Tyr
18 U.S. Code § 2381-Treason Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.
Y'all are a day early, but I'll let it slide.
November 10th 1775 Congress authorized a company of Marines.

A bit. The Second Continental Congress established a company of Marines under LT Presley Obannon on Nov 10th 1775. It was actually a company but 2 battalions were actually authorized by Congress. Tun Tavern was the name of the actual place.
We did all the Navy's dirty work. Still do. They originally used to shoot from the masts. That's where the officer's quatrefoil comes from on their covers. It was two pieces of rope crossed and sewn onto the top of the cover so the Marines didn't shoot their own officers.
And not knowing THAT, is NOT an option, Sergeant Major. Might as well just jump in the drink and get it over with.

And in case y'all don't know, they invented Veteran's Day just so Marines could recover from the Birthday Ball on the 10th.
