Default French President Francois Hollande Welcomes Refugees Despite Paris Attack

Tsk Tsk, some idiots never learn. EIGHT people did the damage they did, I wonder how many others can squeeze through out of 30,000?

    -----

French President Francois Hollande today promised that “France will remain a country of freedom,” defending his decision to honor a commitment to accept migrants and refugees despite Friday’s deadly terrorist attacks in Paris.

“Life should resume fully,” Hollande told a gathering of the country’s mayors, who gave him a standing ovation. “What would France be without its museums, without its terraces, its concerts, its sports competitions?

“France should remain as it is. Our duty is to carry on our lives.”

In the same spirit, he added, “30,000 refugees will be welcomed over the next two years. Our country has the duty to respect this commitment,” explaining that they will undergo vigorous security checks.

Hollande noted that “some people say the tragic events of the last few days have sown doubts in their minds,” but called it a “humanitarian duty” to help those people … but one that will go hand in hand with “our duty to protect our people.”

“We have to reinforce our borders while remaining true to our values,” he said.

Well on the plus side, the raids last night that resulted in the killing of 3 terrorists and arrest of 7 others seems to have been conducted in one of those 'no go' zones, that supposedly don't exist. Little more than 1/2 mile from the soccer stadium that was a target.

This is typical of the political correctness over here .. leading to a delusional, wilful blindness to certain realities.

There is no possible way that the proper identities, bona fides, call-it-what-you-will, can be checked for anything like all of the 'refugees' that have streamed across Europe. Doing so would be a mammoth task at the best of times, given the enormous numbers involved ... and reliable checks made against records from a war-torn country, largely in chaos, is an administrative nonsense.

Therefore, terrorists WILL infiltrate, WILL therefore be free to launch future attacks in numbers that'll make all attacks up to now, possibly even including 9/11, look like tea parties by comparison.

The problem also exists even if approached just from intelligence observation. How stretched would security services in France and elsewhere be, JUST to try and observe these latest arrivals (.. much less those they have an interest in already). It's ridiculous.

Assuming Hollande isn't insane .. he must believe that acting according to political correctness is preferable to the proper consideration of his peoples' welfare. Which is at minimum criminally irresponsible, if not outright treasonous, I'd have thought.

    But ... WHY ?

I think it's sorta funny, but I have a warped sense of humor. In case you haven't noticed.

The left: we can vet all these ragheads. Really? Which sand dune did you come from? The one the left or the right?

I see what you're saying, of course. But the reality is not only that terrorist cells will be set up in - presumably - large numbers, but that every country which has them must be considered a security risk to other nations, too. This inevitably must include your own.

Will the US categorise all arrivals from Europe as potential security risks ? And even if they SUSPECT it .. with people settled whose bona fides could never have been properly checked, wouldn't that same difficulty translate into an inability from YOUR intelligence services to be able to check them out ?

What if you get some wimps in Office who, for the sake of good international relations, decide that 'French nationals' or 'German nationals' .. etc etc .. have to just be taken on administrative appearances and not checked too critically, for fear of creating a diplomatic 'crisis' .. ?

Perhaps the US will one day get to the point where it pretty much closes its borders. I for one wouldn't blame you for doing so in the slightest.

On Fox news at noon, a reporter was interviewing refugees who were not at all sympathetic to the Paris bombing victims. They were very open about their views and didn't try to hide their identity. Knowing this, why on earth would France continue to accept refugees?
