    USS Oklahoma survivor Edward E. Vezey Jr. was honored on his 94th birthday by the
    High Noon Club in Oklahoma City on May 30, 2014.


    Facebook post found, stated that he died today. And that he was the last surviving member
    of the USS Oklahoma.
    May he rest in peace...-Tyr

    Vezey is thought to be that last survivor from the State of Oklahoma.

    In April (2015) the Department of Defense announced, as part of a policy change that established threshold criteria for disinterment of unknowns, that the unidentified remains of the crew members of the Oklahoma would be exhumed for DNA analysis, with the goal of returning identified remains to their families.
