I think it's going to remain as-is until whatever is wrong is fixed, and I don't know what that is! I still say SQL, as everything affected is being drawn from that database. But I will keep updated as I find out more. The old ticket went unanswered, the new ticket is sitting now for 30 mins. But it is in Texas, even if they do offer 24hr support

Yes, although a pain in the ass, it shows that I'm not the only one experiencing the slowness. As I had predicted, here is the response I just got:
Now, we all KNOW that after the past 24 hours that the site is having all kinds of issues. Just loading it a time or 2 won't tell the whole story. But for now, I guess we have no choice but to assume all is resolved, and maybe just update on continuing issues. If things persist, I will update the ticket and push.The website http://www.debatepolicy.com/forum.php seems to be loading fine from our end. Could you please check and let us know if the issue persists?
While this will resolve itself, for sure - I'm more concerned about the 'thanks' problem, which is deadly slow. If it dies, the only resolution is to disable that hack, which is very popular here.
