I have disabled the thanks system for now. You can still view the old thanks, but cannot hit the thanks button for now.

And please update this thread if you feel there is any difference posting and using notifications, now that it's been disabled. I wouldn't have thought one had anything to do with the other, but it seems to be responding faster now that I disabled that.

Lightening fast now that the 'Thanks' have been disabled. And pulling up old 'Thanks' are also immediate.

Hmmmm.... I don't know if we try reinstalling the system over the top of the dying one - or delete and reinstall which wipes everything. I'm thinking/guessing that this ultimately ends up in all of us starting over.

I already sent along an apology to the host. While things did die on their end which started this, the 3rd party app dying was out of their control at that point. I guess something got corrupted.

I'd vote for reinstall and hope for the best... if not, oh well!

Once you are sure Thanks can't be fixed, I'd rather lose data than not have it at all.
It is the perfect thing for lazy folks like me!

Reinstalled now and re-enabled. I will disable it if it starts acting up again though.

All data should still be fine this route, but nothing changed on the database end, only reinstalled files. Cross your fingers!

Yeah, I can't remember it being so fast.

I think the slowness kind of crept up on us until it was almost completely broken.

I was just screwing with Jim yesterday, but yeah... pretty slow this morning.

Those of us "in the know" know you were just screwing with him. Those of us that don't know us, don't. Not my problem.

Since the GF took over the computer for half the day I wouldn't friggin' know if the board was slow. Grrr. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to pick on Jim again. Maybe.

How has the "thanks" system been for everyone, or for checking the notifications anyway? I haven't received any errors since. Any severe slowness in checking them for anyone?
