yeah... that Purple Rain Album was really a chick magnet... Come on over for a Beer and we'll listen to Prince...

    He shoots...HE SCORES!!!

Seriously... great talent... innovative... very true to his music...
You know, the last time I was in Germany and saw a man standing above everybody else, we ended up disagreeing.

    Default Sad loss

I was never such a huge fan but I do recognize the talent and the innovation. Any time we lose a creative talent, it is a sad thing. He seemed to have a breadth and depth to his talents that we may not really appreciate until some years from now. I am sure there are huge amounts of unreleased material that will eventually come to light.

Ditto! He was one of the greatest talents this world has ever known Nt my type of music but.....
He was a rebel, I love rebels. Some of my funnest memories was with Prince music in the background.

We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language, for we intend to see that the crucible turns our people out as Americans, of American nationality, and not as dwellers in a polyglot boarding-house; and we have room for but one soul loyalty, and that is loyalty to the American people. ~Theodore Roosevelt~

I hate to be a d*ck here, but y'all know ME.

I HATE RIP threads. Prince has been irrelevant since the 80s. And I'm not accusing any individual because I don't pay attention to who does it. But the obligatory RIP is BS to me.

The only reason I say this is because the topic came up between me and someone in a REAL situation with someone he loves. This crap annoys the Hell out of me. Say I'm sorry or something to the survivors. I almost never post in these thread (although I may have hit the Johnny Cash one).

I could care less about Prince. I haven't missed him in 30 years.

And when I die, my daughter has instructions to let you know but if you make a fucking RIP thread about me I'll resurrect my ass and come back and kill all of you.

He was very talented. And....like many musicians....very tortured. Sad that many musicians and people in show biz feel they have to resort to drugs to live their lives.

    He will be missed.

I've heard THAT one before. I have everything in the world and I'm tortured. Try having to work for a living and STILL not having enough money. Sorry, no sympathy from me for Cobain, Jackson or Prince. The only one I really felt sorry for was Hendrix. He was totally exploited by his managers. They took every cent he made and gave him just enough money to get a burger. Thar actually happened to Joe Lewis (boxer) as well.

Celebrities kill me. They have everything the rest of us would love to have and pull this "My soul is tortured" crap. Oh wah. "I haven't had to work in 30 years. Think I'll go OD back at the mansion". Crap, I'd have a really nice truck and new guitar if I had all that crap and invite all of y'all to aggravate me at the mansion.

He did not become a celebrity without a lot of hard work. In fact he turned his home into his work.

Since when does money buy happiness?

We don't know he was tortured except he had pain in his hip. He was private, so we don't know for sure.
