    Default Scenic Drives...

So every so often I click on links at MSN... The Beer from All 50 States (one of my favorites), The Best BBQ in Every State, things like that. On Thursday I clicked on 50 of the most scenic drives in America for breathtaking road trips. I've driven a few of them... 17 Mile Drive, Lakeshore Drive, Hana Highway, Blue Bonnet Trail, Great River Road, Silverado Trail, High Road, PCH, Bourbon Street, Las Vegas Strip, El Camino Real, Route 52 Ohio. Today I added another one, Botany Bay Road out on Edisto Island. Not much of a road, according to the caption with the slide it's just 0.4 miles long, but very cool:

Basically, it's a long driveway leading to the Botany Bay Plantation Heritage Preserve/Wildlife Management Area. Turned out, it was a nice afternoon drive...

It was a beautiful day here in South Carolina today...

Avenue of The Giants in the Redwoods of Humboldt County
CA is amazing, as is the drive through Prairie Creek Redwoods
    and Redwoods National Park.
I have lost my mind. If found, please give it a snack and return it?

    Nice shots, HJ!

    Err... I mean, they're awesome!

The most beautiful drive in AK that I've seen is going down Thompson Pass before dropping down into Valdez - Worthington Glacier on the right :

And, yeah! I was driving and taking pics. You get kind of bored after 350 miles.

Anchorage to Valdez is on the list, I'd like to do it someday. I hope to do The Blue Ridge Parkway in the fall this year or next.

Indeed, the drive on 179 through Oak Creek is absolutely gorgeous. So is the ride on 89A through Sedona to Flagstaff!

Incredible beauty - I get to see some stuff here; but when I think 'road trip' there's not much in my mind that compares to the US of A.
“… the greatest detractor from high performance is fear: fear that you are not prepared, fear that you are in over your head, fear that you are not worthy, and ultimately, fear of failure. If you can eliminate that fear—not through arrogance or just wishing difficulties away, but through hard work and preparation—you will put yourself in an incredibly powerful position to take on the challenges you face" - Pete Carroll.

Was just there. Even with the preponderance of leafers you'll enjoy it.
