Default Are liberals as fragile as Robins' eggs?

I think I got a good idea what life is like in our colleges today. In my class today on the workings of the CIA, Valerie Plame came up, and in answering, the instructor mentioned that she is "very photogenic". At this point, a woman a few rows over jumped up, said, "This is too sexist!", and stormed out of class. I was stunned!

How can people (read: liberals) be so incredibly thin-skinned and easily offended? And I'll just bet she made some official complaint, too.

If she had stayed another few seconds, I would have replied, "You've got to be kidding".

One woman is looking for an excuse to leave class and we are all to blame?
I took a couple of Current Events seminars in college where the instructor's job was to create conflict and then moderate the discussion. I don't recall any instances of someone storming out. That is why you were there.

That sounds like a special class where people signed up for that kind of experience. I therefore don't think it's relevant.
How do you know she was looking for an excuse to leave the class? You don't. In fact, she stayed for over an hour before this horrible event took place.

Are you really unaware of all the stories about students today at traditionally liberal colleges needing "safe spaces"? Generally feminist women. Or how so many words offend them? These are not Conservative students.

How about when someone wrote something pro-Trump on a step, and students started freaking out, and protesting that it was a "trigger" for them?

The lists go on an on. You need to own your people and their frailties. There is really no denying it.

Too many liberals do not belong in public without their bib, bottle - and rattle that they can pound all of the time.

This I firmly believe to be true:

Many liberals believe that only speech they approve of should be allowed.

They already own the media, and indoctrinate our children in government- run schools. Once they take the guns away, the tyranny will be complete.

    Our forefathers fought for this?

If you are in a class that is discussing the CIA, obviously the students must know there is going to be conflict involved.
I don't know what makes a college "traditionally liberal." When I went to Cal-Berkeley, there were as many conservatives as liberals. Which is to be expected at a school that is extremely selective and tuition is quite expensive.
One of the defining features of Cal was "free speech squares." Where anyone can sign up for and publicize their own speaking appearances. The only caveat being that you can expect your opinions to be challenged and you have to be able to respond.

I have no knowledge of "safe spaces." You are obviously going to a different type of school than I ever did.

Cal-Berkeley explains a lot. A liberal haven where hippies and 'peace and love' tribes flourish, crying to each
other when someone disagrees with their spoon-pounding and spoiled behavior.

That might have been true in the late 60's. I went there beginning in 2002. At which time there were just as many conservatives as liberals.
Do you get your information from old movies and newsreels or what? Have you ever been to California?

Berkeley is voted most liberal city in Cali, and that says a LOT. The entire area is infested by liberals. Perhaps the school itself has more conservatives than in the past, but the professors are still VERY liberal as is the student body. Anyone doing a simple search as if looking into going to college can find the best sites out there for folks looking for schools - then simply read. Hell, even kooky wikipedia points out their heavy liberal bias. Or simply do a search on cal berkeley political affiliations... use your imagination. That craphole has been recognized as a bastion of liberalism for decades, and hasn't gotten much better. I wouldn't send my pet worm there. Shit school.

Out of 880 college campuses included across the USA, Cal-Berkeley ranks #24 most liberal. I'd say that pretty much says it all. This is where those "fragile" little idiots get started, and come out the other end as whiny little pieces of shit who feel the world owes them, and they're entitled to everything.

How would you know what constitutes a good college? It's not like you ever went to one.
If Cal is a "shit school," why it is consistently ranked as one of the top academic schools in the nation? Why is it one of the most selective schools in the nation?
And who chooses a college based on "how liberal" it is? It's like choosing to go to one of the top "party schools" in the nation.
I don't understand why ignorant people try to judge colleges, though. It's like me attempting to rate your porn stash.
Thanks for trolling Abbey's thread, though.

I went to 2 of them, I just don't brag all the time like a loser as yourself. Judging as in pointing out it's a liberal piece of shit school that spits out more liberal fucking idiots - like yourself.

UC Berkeley has a long-time liberal reputation. http://www.dailycal.org/2016/03/18/u...iberalism-now/

It's a good school, so are many.

Now as back then, I like diversity of thought.

^^ Yup. And I do think it was fair to say that the school was raving liberal loonies back in the day, and they have in fact gotten 'better' over time, and maybe have a fair amount of conservatives. But they are STILL a school that is predominantly liberals, liberal professors and such, and in the most liberal town in all of California. Even if free, with free boarding, free food and free everything, I still wouldn't send my son there. No way and no how!
