    Default Poetry from Danielle

    On My Cloud

I saw a cloud passing by so I jumped on board
It was a nice day and I wanted to feel the breeze
The storm had passed and things were calm
I hated that the storm had emerged so suddenly
The lightning flashed and you disappeared
We went looking and found not a trace
The body was there but the soul was missing
You had ascended and we were left wanting
Bereft of your light, your counsel, your wisdom
Those words of encouragement that we held so dear
No longer spoken to those who remain
Sadness lingers only while we remain grounded
You showed us the sky and told us to embrace the clouds
The more we work, the higher we fly
Until we have earned the right to reach the heavens
Your soul is gone but your spirit remains
Continuing to push, to stretch, to grow
This is why I am on my cloud, racing to catch up
You continue to lead and I will always follow

Free verse poetry submitted for me to post by Danielle, which is an honor to present...
I found this poem showing talent and a sadness quite well expressed about loss of life.
I encourage this young poetess to continue to write and improve as the years bring happiness, greater understanding and the usual trials of life.-Tyr

She is most welcome to send such to me to post....
Or even join to post here herself...
This forum is here to encourage and help, not to criticize and/or attack poets and their heartfelt works......
As mod, I will never allow such in this forum..
