I don't know about you guys & girls, but I get a bit miffed when I'm reading something on the internet and a video begins blaring unbidden - especially when the video is unrelated to the story I'm reading. If I want to watch a video, I'll click on it, thank you very much.

It's just been in the last couple of months or so that Chrome has been allowing this increasingly rampant abuse to happen and the most serious offender seems to be HTML5 videos instead of the Flash variety.

I just downloaded an extension for Chrome that blocks this annoying behavior :

After installing it, click on the icon in the upper right corner to turn it on, and presto! Serenity now.

Works like a champ!

And now back to surfing and drinking my coffee.
