Report: Gunmen Massacre Coptic Christians in Egypt, Killing at Least 28

CAIRO (AP) — Masked militants riding in three SUVs opened fire Friday on a bus packed with Coptic Christians, including many children, south of the Egyptian capital, killing at least 28 and wounding 25, the Interior Ministry said.

No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, the fourth to target Christians since December, but it bore the hallmarks of the Islamic State group.

Islamic militants have for years been waging an insurgency mostly centered in the restive northern part of Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, although a growing number of attacks have recently also taken place on the mainland.

The assault happened while the bus was traveling on a side road in the desert leading to the remote monastery of Saint Samuel the Confessor in Maghagha, in Minya governorate, about 220 kilometers (140 miles) south of Cairo.

Gunmen opened fire on two buses and a truck carrying Coptic Christians in Minya, Egypt on Friday, killing at least 26, including children. Some 26 people were also injured in the attack.

The group of between eight and 10 gunmen, reportedly dressed in military uniforms according to eyewitnesses, approached the convoy in three four-wheel-drive pickup trucks before opening fire, according to local media reports and the Egyptian Interior Ministry.

“They used automatic weapons,” Essam el-Bedaiwy, governor of Minya told state television as cited by AFP.

Security chiefs established a perimeter around the scene and launched a hunt for the attackers, setting up dozens of roadblocks in the area and sending out patrols to scour the desert road.

I would have been a bit more precise my friend.
Instead of the word-- ""suspects""-- I would have written the usual- "" cowardly, appeasing maggots_""..
But then again I have often been accused of having no tact, and no sympathy for such murdering bastards that deserve a hyper-sonic piece of lead right between the eyes.
Islam is the damn source... only time it has ever been in peace was when it was defeated and sought to survive long enough to recover and start murdering again for Allah!
