Wait. What? Airplanes can't fly because it's too hot? That's crazy.
No, not really. According to news reports, the heat poses a particular problem for the Bombardier CRJ airliners, which have a maximum operating temperature of 118 degrees. Bigger planes from Airbus and Boeing can handle 126 degrees or so.

High was supposed to be 112, that would be around 3-5. Just got home from work, thermostat stuck at 114. Sigh.

It was 55-74 the entire trip for me in Alaska. I think snow and ice when I think of Alaska - and I got a damn sunburn while over there fishing!!!

Here in Delaware the heat index tomorrow will be 106. In the mid-Atlantic.

    Kath, you know I'm thrilled.

Heat index here makes it feel like...75° F tops. It's...perfect.

The past couple of days have been decent here-warm, but not horrendous. Evening showers. Today it's supposed to go to 101, but the rest of the week is looking to be in the 90's and that is where 'dry heat' makes a difference. It's not a 'jungle' humidity that one feels in IL or FL, even 101 doesn't feel oppressive.
