A conservative district elects a conservative district. I honestly don't understand why Dems put some much time, energy and money into this race. I didn't see the most current numbers, but a projection based on voter identities at the polls projected Handel to win with 61 percent of the votes.
I have no clue why any one House special election would be a "referendum on Trump." It's not like everyone can run over and vote. You can spend all the money you want and it won't add any voters to that one district.
If the U.S. had an electoral system like England, I have to wonder if Trump would gamble by calling a snap election. Which would put every House and Senate seat on the line for one all encompassing vote.
