Schumer: Democrats, Not Russia, To Blame For Election Loss

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said that Democrats can only blame themselves, not Russia, for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s loss to President Donald Trump in November.

“When you lose to somebody who has 40 percent popularity, you don’t blame other things – Comey, Russia – you blame yourself,” Schumer told The Washington Post Saturday.

Schumer, previewing the Democratic Party’s campaign message heading into 2018, admitted that people are not sure what the party stands for.

“So what did we do wrong? People didn’t know what we stood for, just that we were against Trump. And still believe that,” Schumer explained. The Democratic Party’s plan for 2018 is titled, “A Better Deal” and is meant to contrast the president’s economic message.

Which makes what Schumer said about Clinton over the weekend all the more intriguing.

Remember that Clinton has laid her defeat in the 2016 election directly at the feet of Russia's meddling -- via a series of hacked emails -- and then-FBI Director James Comey's decision to re-open the investigation into Clinton's private email server.

"I take responsibility for every decision I make -- but that's not why I lost," Clinton told Recode's Kara Swisher and Walt Mossberg in early June. In a May interview with CNN's Christine Amanpour, Clinton said: "I was on the way to winning until a combination of Jim Comey's letter on Oct. 28 and Russian WikiLeaks raised doubts in the minds of people who were inclined to vote for me and got scared off."

Meddling and blaming Russia is 2 wildly different things. And don't say that anyone isn't saying it - Hillary herself did, and blamed her loss on Russia!! She blames higher ups in Russia for the Wikileaks themselves.

And while it's died down some, many on the Dems side were quick to blame Russia for the election loss, before reality and intel smacked them in the faces. Clinton's friends told The Hill that she is ready to put the whole story out there. Her version of it anyway.

"She really believes that’s why she lost, and she wants to explain why in no uncertain terms,” one longtime ally said. “She wants the whole story out there from her own perspective. I think a lot of people are going to be really surprised by how much she reveals.”

Really? They're the only media agencies bringing her up? Are you insane? I put in just one search string to cover them and this was a 30 second search. Out of order and all that as it was a broad search. But she is NON STOP in the news on the liberals sites & also the MSM sites - just not all day attacks like Trump.

This is a quick handful, and this is just the internet sites of the main 3. I could times this by 70,000 if I were to hit the "main" and "respectable" pundit sites. So don't think for a second that these very same aren't aired on the TV and radio as well. Don't act like she disappeared for God's sake. She just disappears when it's time to answer questions!
