    Default I ate a moose!

Well, not the whole thing, but some!

Sharon had sent some moose that was more or less ground meat, so we made moose burgers! Mixed in an egg with some bread crumbs, some garlic, some onions and onto the grill they went.

Moose seemed to have much less consistency, much 'softer' than regular beef. I was afraid that it would fall apart on the grill, but it held nicely.

It almost tasted like a sausage burger if you ask me, but was very very good! My son liked his, but said he liked regular cheeseburgers much better. The woman didn't care for them. She thinks that kind of meat is too "gamey" tasting. I thought it was very mild, just different.

But I also made a rather huge sized filet of my white king salmon! That went over about as well but better. The woman at least thought it was tastier than she had thought it would be. The kiddo actually enjoyed it and he generally couldn't care less about seafood. And as for my fat self - yummy!! I made it the way Sharon sent me a recipe for, of course added another few pounds of butter on my catch in addition to that, wrapped it all in foil and off to the grill. ---- First I caught the big ugly bastard, and now I ate him!! LOL

Last time I lived in Montana my older sister invited me over for dinner. She made a delicious roast and I was just wolfing it down. So I asked her, since I shopped at the same one and only little grocery store she did in town, what kind of a roast it was she bought. She said, "this isn't beef, it's ELK."

    Hot damn was that good!

Wish I could taste some moose though, Jim. Sounds excellent!

Growing up in Maine, we took deer and moose as allowed.

I loved venison but I would add pork to the ground meat.
Every day I beat my previous record of consecutive days I've stayed alive.

Yeah venison is pretty gamy and dry all by itself. I grew up on it. I hunted deer with my Dad every year, God rest his soul.
