CNN reported Monday evening that the U.S. government, under President Barack Obama, had wiretapped Donald Trump’s former campaign manager, Paul Manafort — both during after the 2016 presidential campaign.



The report vindicates earlier reporting by conservative talk radio host Mark Levin, and by Breitbart News, which the entire mainstream media attempted to dismiss at the time as a “conspiracy theory” to mock Trump and to protect Obama.

The media pounced after President Trump tweeted on March 4: “Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my “wires tapped” in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!”

CNN didn't admit, they are just reporting news. Also Manafort was wiretapped (legally), not Trump. It's a BIG difference and one not to be abused. This should not be seen as some victory. When the FBI wiretaps someone it's because of some bad shit going down.

It doesn't matter. People caught up in the wiretap aren't considered wiretapped. Manafort was the one wiretapped. End of story.

Trump tweeted in March that phones in Trump Tower were wiretapped by President Barack Obama, a claim that was wholly denied by the Justice Department.

However, Brown explained why the new report could give Trump’s claims some validation.

“What is possible, Don, is that [Trump] was picked up on the Manafort surveillance and we should note that Manafort does have a residence in Trump Tower,” Brown explained to CNN host Don Lemon, “but it is not clear if the FBI did surveillance on him there.”

The new revelations may give some credence to Trump’s past claims of wiretapping.

If you have watched the FBI, DOJ and other intel agencies in the past 2 years, you would know that they have hardly been acting without fault, and the DOJ has done quite a few questionable things. I wouldn't trust either as far as I can toss them. Fact is, PEOPLE in these agencies are political, and it's been proven.

I've said ALL along that I had no trust for them, regardless of "sides". I think something is fishy with Manafort, hence me saying awhile back that he would be the first one to fall if anything was wrong. I can easily believe that while FISA warrants and wiretaps like the above were justified, they can very easily be used for abuse. There were far too many "unmasking" for my liking - and then the LIES proves something was up. Same with this - WHY was there a need to lie?

You only see what you want to. I've been condemning our intel agencies for at least a year now. No longer trust them, nor the majority of the media.

I don't trust Trump. I don't trust the FBI or DOJ either, because of 'rule of law.' They proved during the Obama years, along with the IRS that they are far from non-partisan and certainly not always working in the public interest.

I live just fine. I'm just not an idiot that takes everything at face value. I question things. I'm not naive and I see when there is wrongdoing. I don't bury my head in the sand when things come up over and over to show the shit and shenanigans from our intel agencies at times - ok, individuals working for said agencies at times. This isn't a theory, this is factual about both the FBI and the DOJ, unless you refuse to open your eyes.

What can restore my faith? I suppose a long period of honesty and transparency when possible. Not being caught up in political "sides", or perhaps actually investigate and/or dismiss anyone they find involved in any of the above, no matter how high the position.

I don't trust Trump further than I can toss him either. But each person has their job to do. I trust Trump at the job he does. I question certain things on certain issues, but admittedly not a lot.
