Social workers turn a blind eye because they are numb to the business. They see the same shit every day. If they take the kids, they're wrong. If they don't take the kids, they're wrong. Add to that most people nowadays don't give a damn about doing the right thing for the right reasons. Most are just automatons collecting a check. Especially government employees. Their job is to stay out of trouble, collect a check, hope nothing goes wrong and retire.
