Default Team Obama’s stunning cover-up of Russian crimes

Now, let's see how much folks REALLY care about Russia and connections, and make sure it wasn't about lying politics and witch hunts. Time to reveal ALL sides to the American people. I honestly don't know what Mueller knows, and whether he should recuse himself. But even if the slightest connection, he should. This is Russia, and if the left feels the same as they claim, then all should agree this needs a huge investigation in addition to other Russia topics. Just not sure if Mueller is the one of this as well, or if someone else should be put in place.

    ---

Team Obama’s stunning cover-up of Russian crimes

It turns out the Obama administration knew the Russians were engaged in bribery, kickbacks and extortion in order to gain control of US atomic resources — yet still OK’d that 2010 deal to give Moscow control of one-fifth of America’s uranium. This reeks.

Peter Schweizer got onto part of the scandal in his 2015 book, “Clinton Cash”: the gifts of $145 million to the Clinton Foundation, and the $500,000 fee to Bill for a single speech, by individuals involved in a deal that required Hillary Clinton’s approval.

The New York Times confirmed and followed up on Schweizer’s reporting — all of it denounced by Hillary as a partisan hit job.

But now The Hill reports that the FBI in 2009 had collected substantial evidence — eyewitnesses backed by documents — of money-laundering, blackmail and bribery by Russian nuclear officials, all aimed at growing “Vladimir Putin’s atomic-energy business inside the United States” in violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

The bureau even flagged the routing of millions from Russian nuclear officials to cutouts and on to Clinton Inc.

Hillary Clinton, again, sat on a key government body that had to approve the deal — though she now claims she had no role in a deal with profound national security implications, and during the campaign called the payments a coincidence.

The Obama administration — anxious to “reset” US-Russian relations — kept it all under wraps, refusing to tell even top congressional intelligence figures.

And when the Obamaites in 2014 filed low-level criminal charges against a single individual over what the FBI found, they did so with little public fanfare.

“The Russians were compromising American contractors in the nuclear industry with kickbacks and extortion threats, all of which raised legitimate national security concerns,” one veteran of the case told The Hill.

Yet the administration let Moscow move ahead — publicly insisting that there were no national security worries — and no evidence of Russian interference, despite many lawmakers’ concern at the time.

There’s more: Until September 2013, the FBI director was Robert Mueller — who’s now the special counsel probing Russian meddling in the 2016 election. It’s hard to see how he can be trusted in that job unless he explains what he knew about this Obama-era cover-up.

Uranium One Means Mueller Must Recuse Himself from Russia Probe

At the end of their lengthy editorial regarding the new Uranium One revelations -- "Team Obama's stunning coverup of Russian crimes" -- the New York Post editorial board writes:

Until September 2013, the FBI director was Robert Mueller — who’s now the special counsel probing Russian meddling in the 2016 election. It’s hard to see how he can be trusted in that job unless he explains what he knew about this Obama-era cover-up.
I'll go the Post one better. Virtually whatever Mueller has to say about his involvement or non-involvement in this metastasizing scandal, he must recuse himself immediately for the most obvious reasons of propriety and appearance. Frankly, it's outrageous that he, Ron Rosenstein, or anyone who even touched the Uranium One investigation now be involved with the current probe -- unless the real name of the FBI is actually the NKVD. This is not how a democracy is supposed to work, even remotely. Forget transparency -- this was deliberate occlusion.

The collusion Trump & Co have been accused of is chickenfeed compared to twenty percent of U.S. uranium ending up in Putin's hands under the aegis of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Eric Holder, the latter two members of CFIUS (the inter-agency committee that reviews the transfer of U.S. companies to foreign entities and was then chaired by Timothy Geithner). We have heard disturbing allegations of this for some time, via "Clinton Cash" and even from the New York Times, but the new disclosure that a 2009 FBI investigation of this possible nuclear deal uncovered kickbacks, money laundering, and bribes from the Russian company involved (Rosatom) and yet it still was given the go-ahead by the Obama administration is -- I can think of no better word -- appalling. How could it have come to pass that this occurred? Why are we supposed to believe anyone now?

On Wednesday, Senator Grassley asked Attorney General Jeff Sessions: “What are you doing to find out how the Russian takeover of the American uranium was allowed to occur despite criminal conduct by the Russia company that the Obama administration approved the purchase?"

Obama DOJ Blocked FBI Informant from Talking about Uranium One Deal

The FBI informant at the center of the Uranium One/Clinton Foundation scandal was blocked by the Obama Justice Department from telling Congress about the corruption he witnessed related to the Russian nuclear industry's efforts to win over Bill and Hillary Clinton and influence Obama administration policies, The Hill reported Wednesday.

The corruption allegedly included bribery, kickbacks, extortion, money-laundering, and Russia getting 20% of our uranium against the better judgement of just about everybody.

D.C. Attorney Victoria Toensing, a former chief counsel of the Senate Intelligence Committee, is representing the informant, an American businessman who worked for years undercover as an FBI confidential witness.

Toensing said that when he attempted to bring some of the allegations to light in a lawsuit last year, “the Obama Justice Department threatened him with loss of freedom. They said they would bring a criminal case against him for violating an NDA.”

Emails obtained by The Hill show that a civil attorney working with the former undercover witness described the pressure the Justice Department exerted to keep the client from disclosing to a federal court what he knew last summer.

“The government was taking a very harsh position that threatened both your reputation and liberty,” the civil lawyer wrote in one email. In another, she added, “As you will recall the gov’t made serious threats sufficient to cause you to withdraw your civil complaint."

Hannity: 'Uranium One Will Be One of the Biggest Scandals This Country Has Ever Seen'

In his opening monologue on Tuesday, Fox News host Sean Hannity said that those looking for a real collusion scandal may finally be in luck.

"There are brand new FBI documents that show the Russian nuclear industry officials kicked back millions and millions of dollars to the Clinton Foundation," Hannity said. "All while Hillary Clinton was secretary of State and helped approve the Uranium One deal, which gave Moscow, Russia, Vladimir Putin control of 20% of American uranium, the foundational materials for nuclear weapons."

Hannity said that "the FBI now has evidence that literally they used bribery to gain control over America's uranium industry -- all why the Obama administration did nothing and the Clintons benefited to the tune of nearly 145 million dollars."

He added, "Uranium One will be one of the biggest scandals this country has ever seen."

Congress and Special Counsel Robert Mueller should "stop wasting time" with Trump and turn their attention to the Uranium One deal, Hannity suggested.

What Did Mueller Know? New Documents Show Clinton-Russia Scandal Dwarfs Anything on Trump’s Side

Contrary to the Left's favorite narrative, any Russia scandal has always been worse for Hillary Clinton than for Donald Trump. Recent revelations confirmed this Tuesday, and even implicated the special prosecutor at the center of the Trump-Russia investigation, former FBI director Robert Mueller.

In 2010, the Obama administration approved a controversial deal giving Russian company Rosatom partial control of Canadian mining company Uranium One (and with it 20 percent of U.S. uranium), just as Russians paid former president Bill Clinton for speeches and Hillary Clinton was secretary of State. To make matters worse, the FBI had already gathered evidence of Russian corruption in the U.S. but kept it secret just when it would have mattered most, The Hill reported Tuesday.

A confidential U.S. witness working in the Russian nuclear industry helped federal agents gather financial records, make secret recordings, and intercept email starting in 2009 that showed Moscow had compromised U.S. trucking company Transport Logistics International, in violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

Officials also acquired documents and an eyewitness account corroborating earlier reports that Russian officials had routed million of dollars into the U.S. to benefit the Clinton Foundation just as Hillary Clinton served on the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, which endorsed the Uranium One deal.

This racketeering scheme was allegedly conducted "with the consent of higher level officials" in Russia who "shared the proceeds," The Hill reported.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) did not bring immediate charges upon learning of the corruption in 2010, but kept investigating the matter for nearly four more years, leaving the American public and Congress in the dark.

I think one thing is for certain, and I mean right now, this Russia and 20% of our uranium deal should be SHIT CANNED.

The other thing is, I don't think there's a dirtier, more under handed, lying, cheating, filthy low life bunch of gutter trash, than the democrat party, and the one I'd REALLY like to see get his ass in the wringer is Barry, because yes, I still believe that there is proof beyond a shadow of a doubt that the PATHETIC thing he released online as a "scan" of his purported certificate of birth, was an amateur forgery. That little America hating muslim dog turd was born in Kenya, and illegally held the office of president. If the president wanted to REALLY open a can of worms, he'd send an armed detail to Hawaii and DEMAND this FABLED hard copy certificate of birth be produced. Ya... news flash... there ISN'T ONE. The democrat party from top to bottom is RIFE with scandal, law breaking, cheating, lying and absolute corruption. I don't know how the true full extent of it can even be exposed and prosecuted, but CERTAINLY, people should go to PRISON, with Soetoro and the Clintons leading the pack.

Schweizer: Hillary Claim of Lack of Awareness on Uranium One Deal ‘Stretches Credulity,’ Investigation Warranted

Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Breitbart News senior editor-at-large Peter Schweizer, author of “Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich,” discussed the Clintons’ involvement with the Uranium One deal.

That deal allocated Russia 20 percent of the United States’ strategic uranium reserves.

Hillary Clinton, who was secretary of state at the time of the U.S. government’s approval of the deal, has denied involvement in that approval process. That claim according to Schweizer “stretches credulity” and warrants an investigation.

    Transcript as follows:

CARLSON: Peter Schweizer originally broke this story in a book called “Clinton Cash,” he’s been covering it ever since and he joins us now. Peter, thanks for coming on.

SCHWEIZER: Tucker, thanks for having me.

CARLSON: So, this is a kind of confusing cover to the story. The person who apparently has first-hand evidence that the Russian government tried to get the Clintons to support the deal has been prevented from speaking even to Congress, how can that be and what’s the justification for that?

SCHWEIZER: Well, that’s a great question, Tucker. What we know, apparently based on the reporting is that he has been put under a gag order by the Department of Justice and has been told that if he speaks about this publicly, not only will he face financial penalties in the form of a fine, that he could actually go to jail, that his liberty would be at risk, which is mystifying to me. I mean, why do we not want to know the details about this? That’s what’s so troubling, is it reeks of cover-up. It just stinks. There’s no other word for it.

CARLSON: As a legal matter, how can the Justice Department from a previous administration told the Congress of the United States, elected officials that they can’t talk to an American citizen about allegations of bribery that put our national security at risk? How does that work?

SCHWEIZER: Well, it really shouldn’t work and can’t work and what I mean is the Department of Justice today under President Trump, Attorney General Sessions, could tomorrow come back and say we are removing this gag order, that we believe that there’s a compelling national interest to know. We want this individual to testify before Congress. We want the public to know exactly what went on.

So, this is not something that’s unbreakable, but it just simply takes a request from the Department of Justice to remove that gag order. If that gag order is not removed, I think it’s doubtful this businessman will want to go public, because he doesn’t want to be put in legal jeopardy.

CARLSON: So, back to the core question, the approval of this deal, Uranium One purchased by a Russian company giving the Russians in effect control of 20 percent of our uranium supply. The office of then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said basically she had nothing to do with the approval.

    SCHWEIZER: Right.

CARLSON: Is that true? How could that be true?

SCHWEIZER: It’s not true and it’s interesting with the Podesta emails that came out, the leaked emails, what you find is how they tried to cover this up. One of the assistant secretaries, a gentleman named Fernandez came forward and said, oh, I was the one that really made the decision. She was not involved in that decision. But if you look in the Podesta emails, you see exactly how it went down.

Fernandez is communicating with John Podesta and is saying let me know what I can say, how I can be helpful. So, she was intimately involved in this decision and this is the important thing to keep in mind, Tucker, Hillary Clinton in 2008 when she ran for president went into detail — she actually had a plan on toughening CFIUS, this body that would prove these kinds of controversial deals.

So, she is very knowledgeable on this subject and she’s a hawk on this issue. So, for her to pretend like, I don’t really know what was going, I was not involved, just stretches credulity and that’s one of the reasons we need to have an investigation and really to this point, Tucker, we have not had a Congressional hearing on this. We have not had a grand jury as far as we know. It’s just shocking to me that there has been no investigation on this whatsoever.

CARLSON: And just to be clear, the dots that we are connecting are not very far apart. So, the chairman of this Uranium Company, Uranium One is also on the board of the Clinton Foundation and close friend of the Clintons.

    SCHWEIZER: Yes. That’s right.

CARLSON: John Podesta’s company, the Podesta group lobbied on behalf of this company. Uranium One. Am I getting these facts wrong?

SCHWEIZER: You are exactly right, Tucker. Here’s the bottom-line. As this deal was coming for approval in 2010, the Clinton Foundation received from nine shareholders in this uranium company that was sold to the Russians. None of them all of a sudden decided they were going to donate large amounts of money to the Clinton Foundation, more than $145 million. And by the way, a lot of those donations were never declared publicly by the Clintons, they were hidden.

    CARLSON: Right.

SCHWEIZER: So, it stinks on so many levels. Here’s the other important national security implications, Tucker. This deal was predicated on the fact that when the Russians got control of this uranium, it would not be exported out of the United States, that was part of the agreement.

    CARLSON: Right.

SCHWEIZER: The New York Times has now reported that that’s not true. Yellowcake from these uranium mines are being exported out of the United States and we don’t even really know where they are going.

    CARLSON: That is right.

SCHWEIZER: That and of itself demands investigation.

CARLSON: Yes. About 20 percent of it, they’ve reported has gone to some unknown destination which is ominous. Peter Schweitzer again, the person who broke this story in the beginning and it has been on it ever since. Thank you.

    SCHWEIZER: Thanks, Tucker.

I haven't forgotten about this one either. And I still have no doubt whatsoever - that she DID NOT magically appear on the tarmac of an airport and try to shield it from being captured, and that it was somehow just for a leisurely 'hello'. I think she's as crooked as Holder, Obama and the worst of them all, Hillary.

    --

Loretta Lynch Blocked FBI Informant From Testifying to Congress About Russians Bribing Clintons in Uranium One Scandal

Not only was the FBI informant working on the Russian bribery case threatened by the Obama administration, he was blocked by the DOJ under then-AG Loretta Lynch from testifying to Congress.

    This…

Sara Carter of Circa News spoke to the FBI informant’s lawyer Victoria Toensing.

According to Circa News, the FBI informant wanted to testify to Congress about pertinent information that the Russian’s were attempting to gain access to former President Bill Clinton and his wife, then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, to influence the Obama administration’s decision on the purchase of Uranium One, Toensing said.

Well isn’t that convenient? Now what would make the Russians think they can bribe the Clintons?

As previously reported, Bill Clinton gave a speech to the Russia-based Renaissance Capital in Moscow on June 29, 2010–for one hour for $500,000.

The Clintons know the world is onto their pay-to-play because Wikileaks leaked an email from the ‘Podesta emails’ showing Hillary’s camp internally bragging that they killed a Bloomberg story linking Bill Clinton’s $500K Moscow cash to the Magnitsky bill.

As reported earlier, prior to the Obama administration approving the very controversial deal in 2010 giving Russia 20% of America’s Uranium, the FBI had evidence that Russian nuclear industry officials were involved in bribery, kickbacks, extortion and money laundering in order to benefit Vladimir Putin, says a report by The Hill.

Who was right in the middle of it all? HILLARY CLINTON.

Nine shareholders in Uranium One just happened to provide more than $145 million in donations to the Clinton Foundation in the run-up to State Department approval.

From Tuesday’s report we also found out that the investigation was supervised by then-U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein, who is now President Trump’s Deputy Attorney General, and then-Assistant FBI Director Andrew McCabe, who is now the deputy FBI director under Trump.

Toensing said her client “is not only afraid of the Russian people, but he is afraid of the US government because of the threats the Obama administration made against him.”

    This is big... really big.

But does anyone really have any faith that any sort of justice will be served? That any of the guilty will actually go to jail?

    Yeah... me neither.

    No.

I believe that if a (R) is found to have done something illegal or whatever in this Russia investigation will surely receive some form of action and perhaps jail time, depending on the crime, and I myself even stated quite a few times that I agree they should!!

But I don't have that same faith the other way around. Hillary is like Teflon Don aka John Gotti. But they eventually got him, and he stayed in a cell underground, for 23 hours of the day, and then died in prison from cancer.
