No, the class and really the whole school is so overwhelming liberal. I guess I'm a coward. I wish you were there!

But when the gentleman said "war crimes", I did loudly reply, "Oh come on!!".

P-51 Mustang. Greatest fighter of WWII, that's the one that escorted our bombers from Britain over Germany thanks to the drop-tanks under their wings that gave them the range.

Nothing angers me more than lowlifes slandering the Greatest Generation for doing what had to be done. I'd be 86'd from that class in short order.

It is infuriating. My dad captured two Germans in the forest near Monte Cassino, and was awarded a Bronze Star. I have a real emotional connection to their bravery. It's like slandering them.

Abbey. Ask her what JFK's boat number was. PT-109, a Plywood Torpedo Boat. If she was talking about flying...that would have been a P-51.

Thanks, AT. She did say P-51. My bad memory added the T.

WWII was entered into by a Democrat President (as was WWI). The decision to bomb civilian targets to destroy the enemy's ability to wage war is a fundamental tactic, and the the order was give by FDR. Meanwhile, Germany was waging war against whole civilian populations, for their race or religion. They attacked shipping indiscriminately. The "Rape of Nanking" by the Japanese was one of the worst war crimes of any century.

War is not nice, nor should it be. This antiseptic version of war today's lefties think is possible is not only delusional, but hides the horror of war; which, makes it more easy for those sitting at home to accept. If you aren't willing to play dirtier than your enemy then you will lose. The Dems have forgoten how they won two word wars and have instead given us Korea, Vietnam, the Taliban and ISIS.
“When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall, one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle.” Edumnd Burke
