Default O' Happy Day, They Finally Got This Liberal Windbag!

    U.S.
Charlie Rose Accused Of Sexually Harassing And Groping Women
    [HuffPost]
    HuffPost•November 20, 2017

Talk show host Charlie Rose has been accused of sexual misconduct by eight women, The Washington Post reported Monday.

Rose, who has long hosted an interview show on PBS and also co-anchors “CBS This Morning,” is accused of making sexual advances toward multiple women — some of whom worked on his show. He is also accused of groping women and walking in front of them while naked.

A PBS spokesperson said the network is immediately suspending distribution of the program, which is produced by an independent company, in response to the allegations.

“PBS was shocked to learn today of these deeply disturbing allegations,” the spokesperson said. “PBS does not fund this nightly program or supervise its production, but we expect our producers to provide a workplace where people feel safe and are treated with dignity and respect.”

Bloomberg TV, which broadcasts “Charlie Rose” as well, also said it is suspending the show.

CBS also suspended Rose after learning of the allegations.

“Charlie Rose is suspended immediately while we look into this matter,” the network said in a statement. “These allegations are extremely disturbing and we take them very seriously.”

“He was a sexual predator, and I was his victim,” said Reah Bravo, one of the women who spoke to the Post. Bravo worked for Rose’s interview show starting in 2007 and says he made multiple advances when the two were alone together.

Several women described Rose putting his hands on their legs. Another said he repeatedly made lewd early morning or late-night phone calls to her. One woman said Rose groped her breasts while they were driving in a car together. Rose reportedly also gave women shoulder rubs without their permission, an action one source told the Post was known among staffers as “the crusty paw.”

The incidents date from the late 1990s to 2011, and the women ranged in age from 21 to 37 at the time of the incidents they describe.

Two women told the Post they reported Rose’s inappropriate actions to Yvette Vega, a longtime producer on his show. Vega told the Post she “failed” to help those women.

“I should have stood up for them,” she said.

Read the full Washington Post report here.

“It is essential that these women know I hear them and that I deeply apologize for my inappropriate behavior. I am greatly embarrassed,” Rose said in a statement in response to the Post’s reporting. “I have behaved insensitively at times, and I accept responsibility for that, though I do not believe that all of these allegations are accurate. I always felt that I was pursuing shared feelings, even though I now realize I was mistaken.”

Rose, 75, has hosted his PBS show since 1993, and has co-anchored the CBS morning program since 2012.

He joins a growing list of men in positions of power who have been accused of sexual harassment and assault in recent weeks, beginning with Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein in October. Earlier Monday, New York Times star reporter Glenn Thrush was suspended from the newspaper after a Vox report detailed several instances of him behaving inappropriately with female journalists.

This post has been updated with more information about the allegations and responses from PBS, Bloomberg TV and CBS.

I dont know how it can be a happy day to learn about women being assaulted. I think this is a bad news story for all parties involved.
“… the greatest detractor from high performance is fear: fear that you are not prepared, fear that you are in over your head, fear that you are not worthy, and ultimately, fear of failure. If you can eliminate that fear—not through arrogance or just wishing difficulties away, but through hard work and preparation—you will put yourself in an incredibly powerful position to take on the challenges you face" - Pete Carroll.

My friend, the happy comes from justice being delivered to these liberal hypocrites that so often skate by , covered by their friends
    in the mainstream media!
In this new frenzy, and the ongoing crusade to make women superior to men, they the libs/media have turned to eat their own it now seems.
Of course, when the accusations are true the guilty rightly deserve the punishment dished out.
Seems to me in this case, the monster has turned to feed upon its own and I celebrate that unusual turn of events.
Which does not negate the knowledge and wherewithal that I have about how often women deliberately lure men to act rude, indecent or even a bit too eager/aggressive--then cry foul.
The point is- in the true cases were the female is a true victim- severe punishment should be dished out- however in cases where the female lies or deliberately sets a trap(for various reasons) some considerations for the male's victim-hood should be embraced.
The sticky wicket is -too oft it is a matter of one person's word against another's.
And giving automatic credence to one side over another in such cases - ignores the reality/fact that one side oft plans to make gain( be it monetary or just a moment of fleeting fame) by lying--without little or no cause to fear punishment even should the lie ever be revealed.
In Charlie's case-he admitted this decades long crap- thus I celebrate his exposure and coming punishments.
In other cases, I do not celebrate, because the accused has not confessed and the evidence is simply one word automatically taken over another. That automatic acceptance, I quite adamantly disagree with.
Neither man nor woman is perfect and lying is a common trait in both sexes..
And in my lifelong experience, women are far, far, far , far better at lying than are men... --Tyr

How much do you want to be this witch hunt starts grinding to a halt and start getting called a witch hunt once enough Dems/lefties get accused?

And @pete311 the Huffington Post is one of THE worst examples of true journalism that exists.

I also wonder how many accusers are seeking their 15 minutes. Or how many future accusers will be seeking their 15 minutes.

Some accusations have merit. But all of them ?

That or gold diggers, or they'll do the Clintonian, create their own definition of what "is" is.

I really don't wonder much about that anymore. One accusation seems to immediately spring a dozen. I'm only buying the "I didn't want to first/embarrassed ..." so much. Seems like as good or better an opportunity that winning the lotto to trailer hitch onto a sexual misconduct accusation.

It's really a shame when when the backlash comes, those that SHOULD BE accused will get a walk.
