But John Conyers, a Michigan Democrat, appeared to confirm the payment of a settlement to one of his accusers.

The House Ethics Committee launched an investigation into the prominent civil rights activist.
Mr Conyers first joined Congress in 1965 and is a member of the powerful House Judiciary Committee.
It was reported on Tuesday that he had paid $27,000 (£20,000) in exchange for the confidentiality of a former staff member who claims she was fired for refusing sex.

The staffer filed suit in February but dropped it after the judge denied her request to seal the complaint, according to BuzzFeed.

The newly public accusation comes the day after it was revealed that Conyers settled with another accuser in 2015 for more than $27,000 after he allegedly fired her for refusing his sexual advances.

The irony about all of the investigations the Dems are demanding from the Senate Ethics committee is...."THEY WILL BE INVESTIGATING THEMSELVES."
