Default Got An Observation About The Board...

... and ya, I get accused of being too PICKY about stuff all the time. The Air Force loved my almost obsessive attention for detail though, which brings me to my "observation"... has anyone else noticed that the cool little military plaques for us veterans here are a little "squished" from end to end? You can see this best on the emblems with the round icon in the, the icon is oval up and down.

But here's my Air Force plaque before...

... and here it is after a Photoshop cleanup and "stretch"...

Thank you to Jim for giving us veterans this recognition at all though, I'm not impugning it AT ALL, I love it, I'm just a picky old bastard that maybe I should just keep my mouth shut...

Just for the record, I used Adobe Photoshop to stretch the little plaques, and I stretched them to 175 pixels wide.

I went ahead and changed the one for the Navy - so look at AT's posts or someone else Navy and tell me what you guys think now. Is it too large, AOK? I didn't change the Air Force one. The one you made, you can see all the white etching around the image/word of Air Force. Can that one be cleaned up, unblemished?

Honest? Never paid any attention to it. Most people don't have one at all.

I look at it this way: I cannot stand hearing "thanks for your service". You know as well as I that for every genuine one we get, we get hundreds of insincere recantations of wrote script. I take my little "Marines" thingy with the EGA as a sincere gesture that did not have to be made.

Hmm... I'm looking at an older post of his, and it looks the same so... IDK...

I did blow up the AF image in photoshop and went around it with the "eraser," maybe that's what you can see... OK... I'll "clip it" from my screen and that should make the edges perfectly straight...

    How about that one...

Nah, without even having to open in another page, I can see all kinds of areas that are blemished of where other things were cut out.

It needs to be a perfect logo and then cut to size appropriately.

Let me peek around again, or see what I can do.

Hmmm... dang... maybe I should have "flattened" the image before I resaved it. I could do that and it would merge all the layers.

Speaking of being anal, know how to keep a jarhead busy? Give him some drywall to patch.

Apply mud.let dry then sand smooth and flat with feathered edges. THERE IS NO SUCH F-NG THING AS FEATHERED EDGES AND SMOOTH AND FLAT. I keep sanding off my freakin' patching to get that shit flat and perfect and have to start the f- over Grrr ....

I think it is so large it makes the member's name hard to notice. But if our veterans like it that way, far be it from me to knock it.
