Rubio Warns He will Oppose Tax Plan Unless It Includes Child Credit Expansion

Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., has told Senate leadership he will vote against the GOP tax plan if it does not include a larger expansion of a child tax credit, The Washington Post reported.

The newspaper is attributing its information to a Senate Republican source.

If Rubio carried through with his threat to vote against the bill, the GOP can afford to lose just one more vote and still get the bill approved, the newspaper said. The GOP controls 52 seats in the Senate and needs 50 to pass the bill. Vice President Mike Pence can cast a tie-breaking vote.

However, Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., already opposes the plan, the Post said.

Rubio had been insisting on the child tax credit provision. He tweeted on Friday:

Rubio is a pussy. I have NO idea why anyone liked him. A FL Republican is a right-leaning Democrat to begin with.

Figured this was coming though. I figured it would be McLame or "Captain Kentucky" though. Rubio's been a crying little bitch about everything for awhile. He represents pretty much everything I can't stand about the GOP.

Please no expansion of tax breaks or credits for more children! This country (the whole world) is grossly overpopulated as it is. We sure don't need people encouraged to have more children: especially the sort of people who would respond to being paid to have more children. These are NOT going to be the best and the brightest, and better discourage them, not encourage them.

He'll get it. Or something. And it IS in his best interest. Like most states, most of and the good parts of Fl are rural and where the good ol boys live. Unfortunately, the over-breeding blacks and hispanics in Miami, Tampa, Tallahassee, and Jax huddle like roaches in those cities that once were nice places to go and survive off government handouts.

Sens. Rubio, Corker Say 'Yes' on GOP Tax Bill

Republican Senators Marco Rubio and Bob Corker will vote for their party's $1.5 trillion tax bill, statements said Friday afternoon.

That gives a major boost to the prospects that GOP leaders will be able to push their prized measure through Congress next week.

The Florida lawmaker had said he'd oppose the legislation unless his colleagues made the per child tax credit more generous for low-income families.

On Friday, Republicans said the final legislation would do just that. Lawmakers said the bill would now let low-earners using the credit get up to $1,400 in IRS refunds if they owe little or no taxes. That's up from $1,100 in the earlier version.

Rubio tweeted that the change is "a solid step toward broader reforms which are both Pro-Growth and Pro-Worker."
