France
•December 2014 – An emotionally disturbed driver crashed his vehicle into pedestrians in several locations in Dijon. Though the man reportedly shouted “Allahu Akbar,” a phrase commonly used by Islamic extremist terrorist prior to attacks, authorities said that the incident was not politically or ideologically motivated.
•December 2014 – An emotionally disturbed driver crashed his van into pedestrians at a Christmas market in Nantes. He then stabbed himself in an apparent suicide attempt before being apprehended by police. One person was killed and several people were injured in the attack.
•August 14 – A driver reportedly under the influence of drugs crashed his passenger vehicle into a restaurant in Sept-Sorts, located east of Paris. One person was killed and 13 others were injured in the vehicle ramming.
•August 21 – A driver, who is reportedly psychologically disturbed, stole a Renault Master van and drove it into pedestrians at bus stops in two locations in Marseille. One person was killed and one was injured in the attack.
•November 10 – A male deemed to be emotionally disturbed drove his vehicle into a group of pedestrians in Blagnac. Three Chinese nationals were injured in the incident.
Austria
•June 2015 – A mentally disturbed driver crashed his SUV into pedestrians in central Graz before getting out of the vehicle and attempting to stab passersby. Three people were killed and several dozen others were injured.
Germany
•February 25 – A German national drove a rented passenger vehicle into pedestrians in Heidelberg. One person was killed and two were injured. The perpetrator was shot and injured by police. A motive for the attack was not initially known, but authorities ruled out terrorism.
•November 26 – An intoxicated driver drove into a group of people gathered outside of a nightclub in Cuxhaven, injuring six. Authorities said that there was no political motive. The driver may have been involved in a dispute at the nightclub.
United Kingdom
•December 2 – In the early morning hours, a vehicle was driven into a group of people on Stockwell Road in London, injuring five. Police said that the incident was not politically motivated, but was the result of an altercation.
•December 18 – A mentally disturbed male drove a vehicle past security at RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk. The perpetrator sustained minor injuries in the security response, but there were no other casualties. The incident was not deemed to be politically or ideologically motivated.

Spain
•September 3 – A vehicle was driven into pedestrians outside of a bar in Huelva, injuring two people. Police said that the incident was the result of an altercation.
Italy
•December 9 – A male under the influence of drugs intentionally drove a vehicle into pedestrians at a Christmas market in Sondrio. Four people were injured in the incident. There didn’t appear to be a political or ideological motive to the crime.
Russia
•September 4 – In the early morning, a man drove his vehicle into a movie theater scheduled to screen the controversial film, “Matilda.” The driver, who was opposed to the movie, also threw an incendiary object at the vehicle, causing a fire. No one was injured.
•December 2016 – A male reportedly under the influence of drugs drove through the terminal of Kazan Airport after crashing past security. Though the incident was not deemed to be politically or ideologically motivated, it did appear to be intentional.

UK
• May 2013 – Two Islamic extremist terrorists rammed a passenger vehicle into a soldier
outside of a barracks in Woolwich, London. The perpetrators then stabbed and killed the soldier
before being apprehended by police. No group claimed responsibility.
• March 22 – An Islamic extremist terrorist rammed a rented SUV into pedestrians on London’s
Westminster Bridge before crashing into the gates outside of Parliament. The driver then stabbed a
police officer before being shot and killed. Five people were killed and dozens injured in the
attack. ISIS claimed responsibility.
• June 3 – Three Islamic extremist terrorists rammed a rented van into pedestrians on London
Bridge. Armed with knives, the three perpetrators stabbed pedestrians outside of restaurants and
bars in Borough Market before being shot and killed by police. Eight civilians were also killed and
several dozen others injured. According to media reports, one of the perpetrators attempted to rent
a truck on the day of the attack, but his payment was declined and the smaller van was rented
instead. ISIS claimed responsibility.
Sweden
• April 7 – An Islamic extremist terrorist drove a stolen beer delivery truck into
pedestrians on Drottninggatan in Stockholm, before crashing into a department store. Five people
were killed and more than a dozen were injured in the attack. The suspect was detained by police.
He was determined to be an ISIS sympathizer, though no group claimed responsibility for the attack.
Germany
• December 2016 – An Islamic extremist terrorist stole a semi-trailer truck, killing the
driver. He then drove the vehicle into pedestrians at a Christmas market in central Berlin. Twelve
people, including the truck driver, were killed and several dozen injured. The perpetrator fled the
scene and was killed by police in Milan, Italy several days later. ISIS claimed responsibility for
the attack.
France
• June 2015 – A delivery driver attempted to crash his van into gas canisters at a chemical
plant in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier. Prior to the attempted attack, he had killed his employer. No
group claimed responsibility.
• January 2016 – A driver suspected of being motivated by Islamic extremist ideology
attempted to crash a passenger vehicle into a group of French soldiers stationed outside of a
mosque in Valence. Two people were injured in attempted attack. No group claimed responsibility.
• July 2016 – An Islamic extremist terrorist drove a rented refrigerator truck into Bastille
Day revelers on Promenade des Anglais in Nice, killing 86 and injuring more than 200. The driver
was killed by police when he opened fire on responding officers. ISIS claimed responsibility for
the attack.
• June 19 – A driver crashed a passenger vehicle into a police car driving down the
Champs-Elysees in Paris. Authorities found gas canisters and weapons in the car. The driver was
killed in the crash, but no one else was injured. No group claimed responsibility for the attempted
attack, but the driver was known to French authorities as a suspected extremist.
• August 9 – Early in the morning, a driver crashed a passenger vehicle into a group of
French soldiers leaving their staging quarters in the Levallois-Perret suburb of Paris, wounding
six. He fled the scene but was later apprehended. No group claimed responsibility.
Spain
• August 17 – An Islamic extremist terrorist drove a rented van into pedestrians on La
Rambla, a central street in Barcelona popular with foreign visitors. Thirteen people were killed
and dozens were injured in the attack. The perpetrator fled the scene but was apprehended and
killed by police outside of the city several days later. ISIS claimed responsibility for the
attack.
• August 18 – Five Islamic extremists drove a passenger vehicle into late-night
pedestrians on Passeig de les Palmeres, in the vicinity of the port in Cambrils. The
attackers were armed with knives and a machete when they got out of the vehicle after crashing it
into a parked police car. One person was killed and several were
ere also killed by police. ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack.
