Crimea’s head warns about possible provocations during presidential elections

    Russian Politics & Diplomacy
    February 12, 16:32 UTC+3 SIMFEROPOL
Presidential elections in Russia will be held on March 18, 2018

SIMFEROPOL, February 12. /TASS/. Crimea’s head, Sergei Aksyonov, has warned about a terrorist threat and possible provocations during presidential elections.

"Potential threat may come from the Kiev regime and the so-called activists, who have said that more than once. Apart from that, it is not ruled out that members of international terrorist organizations may infiltrate into Crimea via the border with Ukraine," he wrote on his Facebook account on Monday.
He pledged that "extra security measures will be taken both at the border and at polling stations, and across the entire territory of the republic in general."
He did not rule possible provocations during the elections. "We don’t rule out provocations. Crimea is ready for that. Any attempts at provocations will be nipped in the bud, quickly and toughly. As it was done in the days of the Crimean Spring," he said.
Presidential elections in Russia will be held on March 18, 2018. It will be the first such poll in Crimea after it reunified with Russia in March 2014.

Just wait. After the election, TASS headlines will read: "Trump Tried to Sway Outcome of Russia Elections"

MOSCOW, February 14. /TASS/. Russian Minister of Communications and Mass Media Nikolai Nikiforov expects no increase in cyber security threats in the run-up to the 2018 presidential elections in Russia.
He said that Russia has always paid special attention to information security.
"I would not link any increase in (cyber) threats with the election day. The Russian Federation and its state bodies in particular have always been a tempting target, so this would be a standard situation for us rather than a special event," Nikiforov said in an interview with Rossiya 24.
The minister added that although new threats emerge regularly, new security features are also being developed on a regular basis.
Mikhail Oseyevsky, the president of the Russian telecom holding Rostelecom, earlier said that his company, together with Russian security services, was preparing to repel possible attacks on video surveillance system at polling stations during the March 18, 2018 presidential election in Russia.

I'll take all bets right now, Putin wins.

It ain't how many votes someone gets that matters, it's who's counting the votes.

Governments don't follow rules, especially their own.

Rules are meant for poor slobs like you and I who don't have any power.

I think that you are mistaken. I as well as any of our citizens do have direct power. And this is our votes by which we DELEGATE our Right to rule our State. And according to principals of Democracy this is a will of Majority. We do not have a hereditary monarchy, as in 10 European countries and Japan. In Russia all bodies of the central government and local authorities are formed on a democratic basis through direct and secret elections.
In case anybody think it insufficient he or she is able to start own political career with the aim to participate in State bodies directly.

Yes Balu. We all know what you think. So, will you be as happy to brag about this Direct, and Secret Elections thing after PUTIN wins????

It would be nice if I was WRONG about this. But...why will this be any different? Even when Medvedev was elected...Look who really was in charge.

America isn't a "democracy," which loosely translates as "mob rule." America is a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC.

And I think it is you who is mistaken, my Russian friend. Corruption abounds in just about every government on earth. They make rules/laws then break them, and those in power never seem to have to answer for breaking those laws, but if you or I try it, we're carted off to prison before we know what hit us.

That's just a simple fact. We see it all the time.

Real life contradict to what you say. Those of 'fat cats' who violate the Law often happen to find themselves in jails. At least in our country. How you can explain it?

If that was true in Russia, then Putin would be in jail.

It certainly happens in America, look at the massive scandal we have going on right now, and so far, NO ONE has been indicted or arrested. We just see a lot of talk and supposed investigating. They put on a show and then it all dies down and everyone is still free to do it again. But again, I'm referring to those in power, not average citizens. The democrats in America are worse than the Mafia.

    Default Balu....

Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. The World English Bible translates the passage as: You hypocrite! FAT CATS....???

Balu. Speaking of FAT CATS. Why isn't Putin...who now owns 20 Percent of American Uranium, in a deal with Hillary Clinton, and Obama....in Jail????
