Default What does a grenade weigh?

    Is it 1 lb....1.5 lbs, 2 lbs?

We did not use them in the Coast Guard, so I do not know.

But I could toss a 16 lb shotput 43 feet in college. Not good enough for competition, but not a bad heave!

Discus? 120 feet. Hated that damn thing!
I have lost my mind. If found, please give it a snack and return it?

There are a lot of different types of grenades. Almost all weigh under 2 pounds and most around 1 pound. The latest grenade was developed and fielded last year and allows the user to select between concussion or fragmentation with the flip of a lever. There are also different types of grenades for grenade launchers... different animal and usually launched from some type of weapon.

I know. They have selector switches on their weapons and about half the time select the wrong mode of fire....

Had a chaplains assistant once that could not hit anything even at point blank range. He was a something else. Kept him around though because he was a good Chaplain's assistant ...

This Cpl was "that" Marine. Completely useless. He screwed up EVERY duty I stuck him on. They ranhim off haircut duty because half the Marines in the ship wanted to throw him overboard. Ship's Platoon wouldn't take him. That's like permanent maintenance duty. How can you not handle a scrub brush without pissing someone off?

There's a say in the Corps: "There are no untrainable Marines - only failed leaders". WRONG! he was Sad Sack from the boot laces up.
