    Default Stress test?

    Has anyone here had a drug-induced (not exercise-induced) stress test? I'm hoping to hear what it was like.
    @aboutime ?

    Oh, sorry. It is when they inject some drug(s) to super- stress your heart, to see if there are any problems. They do it this way if the patient cannot handle running on a treadmill.
    I should do it this way due to my hip, but I'm skeered of those drugs.

    What if the drugs they injected caused a heart attack? Do they have anything that would immediately counteract them?

    Sounds kinda weird... don't know if I'd want to do that. At least on a treadmill you can sit down if you feel bad. Those drugs would just be stuck in your system.

    They supposedly can counteract a bad reaction. But yeah, that's how I feel about it.

    Just read Pete's and Gabby's dumbass posts. If that doesn't stress ya, nothing will, not even drugs.

    Wait. You have a bad heart. They want to stress it to see how much stress it can handle? Ummm ... what happens if they find out how much stress it can handle?

    I'm not a doctor nor a genius, BUT .... got a second opinion? I hope?

    Two cardiologists think I do. They need to figure out why I still get chest pain, etc., a year after my stent implant.

    I'm very nervous about it, but I guess I need to do it.

    I need advice though, on drugs vs treadmill.

    Angina?

    If you have to do it, I'd opt for the treadmill. You can always get off that and sit down if you don't feel well.

    I would try the treadmill. If it works, no drugs. If it doesn't, you can always take the other test. Drugs are a VERY last resort for me.

    Now that you mention it, they should hook up a heart monitor while I drive. The minute someone pulls out from a side street, makes me brake, and then drives slowly in my lane, will give them some good data.

    That's one of the biggest reasons I live in a small town. If there's more than two cars at a stop sign here, it's a traffic jam... We don't even have a stop light here.

    I can't STAND bumper to bumper traffic... and the jerks that if there's room in front of you to SQUEEZE their little SUV in between you and the car in front of you because you were FOLLOWING AT A SAFE DISTANCE, they pull right in front you. It's also why I drive a huge 3/4 ton truck. Stare at that huge grill in your rear view mirror ass wipe... and don't make any sudden moves or I'll make a SUIT CASE out of your little import...
