We don't want a democracy in which landslide victories are GUARANTEED to occur. You can't get any such thing in free and fair elections ... not as preset guaranteed results, anyway.

But, OK, you may not know that. Understood.

America is a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC, not a democracy.

In our "Pledge of Allegiance" we say, "and to the REPUBLIC, for which it stands," not, "and to the DEMOCRACY, for which it stands."

The most basic definition of democracy is "mob rule." We don't have "mob rule" in America. If we did, L.A., NYC and Chicago would be telling the rest of the nation who the president should be, EVERY TIME. Our electoral college was one of the most genius things our founding fathers ever devised.

Now Russia on the other hand doesn't have mob rule... it's PUTIN rule, period, and if you don't like it, you either disappear or are jailed.

Really? I read what Polite Russian posts and I can believe that. THEN I listen to Putin, and/or read what you and Balu post and all I can do is think 1950s-1960s.

Maybe some of the people HAVE changed. The BS from propaganda ministers like yourself hasn't one bit. "Meet the new commie ... smells like the old commie ....We won't get fooled again..."

Papokario. What YOU, and Balu fail to admit, or even consider is. How Putin managed to WIN so big....primarily due to FEAR. Anyone who dared to vote against Putin knows...they put their lives in their hands for all to see. At least, as it is here in America. Americans were AFRAID to NOT vote for OBAMA because they feared being labeled RACISTS. Just as the Democrats here are doing to anyone who didn't vote for HILLARY.

We're not the part of America that FEARS crooks, liars, cheats, murderers, and Dictators like Putin who have taught you the SAFE WAY to be a Hypocrite is to SHUT UP, and WAIT.

Default You can have your Democracy. We in the USA have a Democratic Republic..big difference

The key difference between a democracy and a republic lies in the limits placed on government by the law, which has implications for minority rights. Both forms of government tend to use a representational system — i.e., citizens vote to elect politicians to represent their interests and form the government. In a republic, a constitution or charter of rights protects certain inalienable rights that cannot be taken away by the government, even if it has been elected by a majority of voters. In a "pure democracy," the majority is not restrained in this way and can impose its will on the minority.

Most modern nations are democratic republics with a constitution, which can be amended by a popularly elected government. This comparison therefore contrasts the form of government in most countries today with a theoretical construct of a "pure democracy", mainly to highlight the features of a republic.

A 'democracy', where everybody's viewpoint is rigidly controlled through State control of what your media tells you ??

Don't be ridiculous. You have a sham of a democracy. We all know it.

The Wall Street Journal is advocating that we sanction Putin directly for the nerve gas attack on the spy in London. Putin sure is causing a lot of trouble in the world; much like Kim Jong Un or Iran's dictators. Russia is not a big or especially powerful country anymore, but it is causing as much trouble as these others.

ahahahaha agent evidence from CNN I already said that you only watch bbc NBC cnn and so on, know that we have an appointment book 1.5% of the votes, and Navalny contracted of theft(served a sentence in prison) and according to the laws of Russia can not be President. let me remind you that 72% of the votes for Putin, can you still start to respect these 72%? or do you prefer to talk about poor 1.5%? Putin has already said that he will take into account the wishes of these 1.5%

and again, evidence of this is CNN...
