I still have no idea what the heck that was all about, but I enrolled in a regular dojo after that. Took Taekwondo at the Aikido Chuseikan dojo until the day I left Tampa, about 2 1/2 years. Try tai chi. It's easy on your joints, and despite what is sold, it IS a martial art. When one of the emperors outlawed martial arts for peasants (kind of like the left outlawing guns today -- to disarm the public -- the yang movements were removed and it was turned into a "dance" by using only the softer yin movements.

Just talked with John, the sensei up at the new Red Dragon dojo. He's in his 50's and an AF veteran like me. He's a 7th Dan black belt Master with 35 years experience. Classes are Tuesday and Thursday, and Saturday if you want, and the price is super reasonable. Going to go up tonight and check it out and probably sign up. He said he teaches mostly Ju-Jitsu and it concentrates on upper body strength, just what I'm looking for. I need something to do for exercise. Might as well do something to make it fun.
