Sites that block due to you using an adblocker

I use Adblocker and come across many sites that will pop up with a message detecting the blocker, and telling you to disable it if you would like to view the site. To begin with, I hate this. Yes, I know folks advertise, but if someone opts out - they ain't gonna care about your ads if you force them on them even further.

Here is one from 'The Chive', which truly is a great site for photos!! But this started awhile back. And then look at the 2nd picture. That's a photo of the adblocker on my browser, and how much shit was blocked on their homepage, before it denied me. And that's WHY I run them mainly, they are obtrusive and sometimes drain resources. But dang, 128 on one page?

I get it all the time...if story is interesting...I will `disable for awhile`...Then clean my house real good later...

I use AdBlocker Plus myself, and I just leave the site. If I don't want to look at your damn ads, that's my choice. Don't try and FORCE them on me.

What's funny is that sometimes you can use AdBlocker to block their bitch-about-your-adblocker message. I get a bit of satisfaction out of that.

Usually they've thought about that, though, so the solution most times is to use Domain Blocker to refuse the connection to their 3rd party site. That's satisfying, too, especially when it's a paywall. You have to be careful with Domain Blocker, though, because it's a global block and some sites like Google are used almost universally and it's needed to display the page properly.

Only one or two sites I've run across that I can't disable their bitch-about-your-adblocker message, and I'll just go somewhere else. I hate ads.

Native ads are the hardest to block, Yahoo is a master of using them and I haven't found a way to remove them. Yet.
