That is correct. Recruiters are not allowed anywhere near the test, the booklets, nor the applicants while it is being administered. If they think so much as one booklet has been compromised all of USMEPCOM will scratch the test and issue a whole new one (there are 4 versions of the test to preclude copying).

The ex worked for the MEPS (USMEPCOM) not the USMC. As the largest branch, the Army has administrative control of MEPCOM, but USMEPCOM falls under the DoD. It's a joint duty assignment. Military personnel assigned to MEPCOM are called "purple shirters" and if you get caught helping service counselors or recruiters you can kiss your career goodbye.

I would have enjoyed being a recruiter.

Not this kid. Too much to chance ob recruiting duty. In the Marines, a "B" billet (recruiter/drill instructor or Marine Security Guard duty is almost a must for promotion, and even if not, it's a one-up on everyone else for it.

I made a preemptive strike and went on drill instructor duty. Too many horror stories in recruiting duty. If an applicant decides it ain't going, they will make up all kinds of shit and YOU have to prove you DIDN'T do it.

On drill instructor duty there are always lots of witnesses.

Hmmm... well, they came around the AMU at Nellis AFB and asked if anyone wanted to be a recruiter but I was too short, I'd have had to either extend or reenlist. I should have. I reenlisted later anyway. Regardless of the perils, I think I'd have liked it... for awhile. Working on the jets on the flight line could be pretty brutal too.

Mine was tested when I was nine years old. It's physical age compared with mental age ... this is the explanation I recall being given. Nine years old .. mental age, then, of thirteen. IQ = 125.

Default This is a fun topic Abbey.

I honestly have no idea what my IQ is, or might be. But then, what can I say about my intelligence when I learned to type in just 3 days, at Radioman School in San Diego. Typed 60 words a minute before I left. Then, went to MORSE CODE OPERATOR school in San Diego. Learned to TYPE as I listened to MORSE CODE accurately, at 22 words per minute to qualify.
Then, after entering the Fleet, aboard ship. I spent 9 weeks at TELETYPE REPAIR SCHOOL, at the Norfolk Naval Base. Teletype machines had over 3000 parts on just a Printer. Not including the keyboard, or the tape punch, and readers.

I was also, originally...a Signalman....Skivvy Waver. Operated Flashing Light (morse),

    and Semaphore (hand flag signaling)

Over less than a year. I became the Leading TTY repairman for all of the ships in the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Storm...flew from ship to ship until I was injured during PT quals, and lost all feeling in my left side, head to toe.
So, whoever said "You can't teach old dogs new tricks" never walked in my shoes. And I still have no idea what my IQ might be...still able to type at 60 wpm, and have never forgotten Morse Code, Semaphore, Flashing Light, or Satellite Communications for the Navy.
I love to make Liberals Cry, and Whine.
    So, this is for them.
GOD BLESS AMERICA - IN GOD WE TRUST !

Sure it's possible. This is a message board that attracts the top 1.2%. The rest of the bell curve joins those "other message boards".

My IQ TEST WAS GIVEN ME AT SCHOOL AT AGE 15. THAT WAS 1969. I scored highest in the entire school.
My teacher said, My score was that of a college graduate.
Do not put too much stock in IQ tests, as do not measure discipline and personal ambition.
Mine was to be, left the hell alone to chase the pretty gals, enjoy myself, fight, drink , gamble and raise hell.
I did not pursue any career in the rat race, thus never went out trying to make myself a millionaire and I was never ever willing to kiss ass to get along, keep a job or get a promotion.
Looking back now, I regret not making the extra money and much of the hell raising, but the rest was just the life I chose and I had one helluva time living it.- Tyr

High IQ means you are good at taking IQ tests.

Exactly. They are not a measure of more-important things; EQ, for example.
“… the greatest detractor from high performance is fear: fear that you are not prepared, fear that you are in over your head, fear that you are not worthy, and ultimately, fear of failure. If you can eliminate that fear—not through arrogance or just wishing difficulties away, but through hard work and preparation—you will put yourself in an incredibly powerful position to take on the challenges you face" - Pete Carroll.
