I think this will speak to you:

“Most of us were taught that God would love us if and when we change. In fact, God loves you so that you can change. What empowers change, what makes you desirous of change is the experience of love. It is that inherent experience of love that becomes the engine of change.”

that's beautiful. And i think people tend to forget a few things about love. Namely, loving not-very-well is the same as not loving. People assume finding Love - as in our Creator - means we 'have to stop doing stuff' - when, as the quote mentions, the reality is being exposed and intertwined with unconditional love changes our nature. It's a little like a pit bull; when they are raised in love they are super sweet, kind, and noble. Raised with Michael Vick? Well...yeah.
“… the greatest detractor from high performance is fear: fear that you are not prepared, fear that you are in over your head, fear that you are not worthy, and ultimately, fear of failure. If you can eliminate that fear—not through arrogance or just wishing difficulties away, but through hard work and preparation—you will put yourself in an incredibly powerful position to take on the challenges you face" - Pete Carroll.

I love animals. Every time I see a poor little squashed critter on the road I think of what kind of ASS HOLE had to hit it.

I've asked God to put me in charge of all those poor little critter souls that had their life cut short by some jerk off in a car that thought it was sport to hit them.

I'm not sure how folks could claim to know what love even IS if they are gratuitously hurting animals. Especially domestic animals. When I see my dumb dogs - they are so dumb they have to be tied with a cord to me just so they don't do something dumb. They are so dumb they think I throw a treat even if I just move my arm.

They are perfectly dumb. And i love it that way - because they want maybe two things: love and food. It's so easy - just love them. I do not believe animals FEEL love but i am sure they know something is bonding them to me and vice-versa.

Ever see a video of an elephant mourning another dead elephant? You cannot doubt their ability to “feel” after that.
