I have always viewed Memorial Day and Veterans Day as a teaching experience for my daughter. As a non-military family, we never experienced anything first hand. So you have to approach it otherwise.
Today, we started out at Los Angeles Memorial Cemetery for an observance of the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I. Then we went to the All Wars Memorial in Boyle Heights. Followed by a cookout at my sister's home in East Los Angeles. Which is always a good time for all.
The local cemetery has the graves of my Dad, Step-Dad -both WWII Veterans. And My Mom. spouse to both.
I buried all 3 with my brother - Navy Vet - twice.
I have lost my mind. If found, please give it a snack and return it?
