A little lengthy depending on one's definition of "lengthy". It's not killer boring lengthy. Sounds like what I see when I watch a movie and why I rarely do. I've usually got the story figured out before the halfway point.
Except that they are pointlessly gross, the SAW movies are hard to figure out because they are based on throwing you swerve after swerve. Seven was another. And, pointlessly gross.
There's nothing new under the Sun.
Of course, man is a fallen creature and life is about trying to rise above that deep fallen level.
No shock that movies about man's activities on this blue marble follow that repeated path.
What is interesting is the methods used, multitude of ways and emotions during that journey.
