The big thing to me is: Those fockers could take bullets for their nation yet get arrested for boozing it up. Those fockers cannot be trusted to make a choice about DRINKING yet ANY of them could change their biology - their gender - and be praised for it.

I agree with you my friend, one hundred percent!
Male drinking age should be 19(if military then 18), for obvious reason that you named, female drinking age should be 20 or 21, in my opinion, unless they are in the military, if in theirs should be 19 (if military then 18)...
During the Vietnam war, I saw men home on leave from the battle front, 20 years old and they could not legally drink, which to me as a 17 year old, already drinking in the town's taverns was nothing but pure bullshit from government interference
One went back and got killed in action, the other one went back and got his leg blown off at the hip-- the one crippled for life died about 4/5 years ago.

When I enlisted in the AF, if you were 19 or under, all you could drink on base was beer and wine. I was 24 when I enlisted so I could drink whatever, bonus.

The drinking age in WI is 21.

I keep hearing that as generations go, supposedly I have less testosterone than my father, my son has less than me, his son less than him and so on. So yes, the male species is being pussified by nature itself... or something... and I think 18 year old nowadays are VERY immature. I think the national adult age, for everything, voting, drinking, even enlisting, should be raised to 21.

I don't see the point to having a drinking age at all. I know some 50 years olds that can't handle their booze and some 16 years olds that can. Putting an age limit on maturity is just dumb, IMO. I agree with Darin, about the the military thing. I know when we went on deployment, once we left the US that age limit for booze went out the window. Foreign countries don't ask for ID, and the ship only does when you board it.

Same dumb rules apply to firearms; which, gripes my butt. Twenty one to buy or own a handgun in the US but you can sure tote one anywhere else in the World in uniform if the US government says you can. Convicted felon? Got a misdemeanor domestic violence charge? No problem as long as you're totin' iron for Uncle Sam.

AND ... you can be 18, walk out of a bar, onto a boat, handed a loaded weapon and dropped on shore when deployed. Again, observation of the rules is pretty lax.

I'm not saying issue every nut job and his brother a bottle of Jack and an M-4. I'm saying the laws are arbitrary, stupid and contradictory. That's BEFORE you marry it up with the maturity level of teens and 20-somethings nowadays. F-ing age limit for both should be 30.

What a open bucket of contradictions:

~ Most states, if not all, allow issuance of an unaccompanied driver's license at 16;
~ Voting age is 18 nationwide;
~ Enlisting in the military without adult permission is 18;
~ Legal drinking age varies from 18-21 depending on the state;
~ Some states prohibit sales of tobacco products in a wide range
of ages from 18 to 25.

California, for one, is having a movement being pushed to lower the
voting age to 16. I think it should be 21 - allowing a person to gain a bit
of 'real world' experience. To me, 16-20 is too young to have enough sense
to make a wise decision in many things.

Age of consent for sex in many states is 16 or younger. Conflicting messages about when someone is an adult.
