    Default Skull...

So, I love to weld, and I figure there has to be something I can do with it to make some spare change. I've done a lot of welding for 'friends' over the years and never charged them a cent. Repaired things, built things, but I've been planning on doing metal art for some time but always put it off. Well, there's this "world famous" metal artist here in town that I look at his 'art' and think, hell I could to that. So, I've kicked myself in the rear and have a 'ROUGH' start on a skull. When it's done I'll put it on etsy and ebay and test the waters. If I can make $100 or something, I'll continue with other stuff...

Artiest music to weld to, to get the creative juices flowing...

    pretty slick!
“… the greatest detractor from high performance is fear: fear that you are not prepared, fear that you are in over your head, fear that you are not worthy, and ultimately, fear of failure. If you can eliminate that fear—not through arrogance or just wishing difficulties away, but through hard work and preparation—you will put yourself in an incredibly powerful position to take on the challenges you face" - Pete Carroll.

Slowly, it's coming along... one more piece figured out, upper jaw, and working on what to use for teeth. All the little welding spatter will all be gone when it's done. I'll wire brush it on the outside and probably clear coat it when it's done. This is still totally rough... better get back to the teeth... work in progress...

Got some upper teeth... I'm beginning to wonder what it will look like when it's done now... since it's just a piece at a time, no plan...

Got a little more done. Been neglecting finishing this. Time to give this thing a cranium...

When I started this I thought it would take a few days... aaaaahh... no... never imagined how long it would take to find the right piece and place it keep looking at a real skull to figure out proportions... taking far longer than I thought it would. Next time I won't start such a complicated project, or if I do I'll simplify it. But, it's fun... kills a lot of time while cooped up inside for sure. Going to sell it when it's done. I can see light at the end of the tunnel though. Finish the cranium and it's done... well, build some kind of cool stand for it...

What a mess... going to get some finishing touches for sure... smoothing welds, polishing... looks better than in pictures...

Wow! I think you’ll get a good price for that. It’s a pretty intimidating piece of art, T.

Got a lot to go, probably isn't half done yet. It kinda got more involved than I had figured right off the bat.

The finished product is going to look pretty cool, it's still kinda rough now.

For some reason looking at it with the naked eye, it looks a lot better.
