I can see this going one of 2 ways. Either he gets secure access somewhere to testify via livestream, and get minimal concessions in return. That, or he returns for full blown immunity for his testimony. From what I understand, one thing he may have to offer, is disproving the fact that the DNC was hacked by Russians.

I'm really not sure about my feelings on this one. For the longest time I wanted nothing but consequences from the group, and him, for releasing information that could/was harmful to our country. It's truly kind of hard to forget about that and just let him skate. Then again, what does he have to offer? Of course they should find that in advance prior to making any concessions to him.

Senator Rand Paul Thinks Julian Assange Should Be Granted Immunity for Testimony

Senator Rand Paul believes that WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange should be given immunity in exchange for him testifying before the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Speaking to the Gateway Pundit, Senator Paul asserted that Assange likely has important information about the hack and that it’s unlikely he would agree to testify without immunity.

“I think that he should be given immunity from prosecution in exchange for coming to the United States and testifying,” Senator Paul told the Gateway Pundit. “I think he’s been someone who has released a lot of information, and you can debate whether or not any of that has caused harm, but I think really he has information that is probably pertinent to the hacking of the Democratic emails that would be nice to hear.”

“It’s probably unlikely to happen unless he is given some type of immunity from prosecution,” Senator Paul added.

In a letter delivered to the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, where Assange has resided for the past six years, Committee Chairman Senator Richard Burr requested that he make himself available for a closed hearing at a “mutually agreeable time and place.”

The committee has requested for him to appear in person, but Assange, in theory, could testify through the use of a video livestream. The only technical hinderance would be the fact that the Ecuadorian government cut off Assange’s internet and communications in March, under pressure from the US government.

“The inquiry has asked for him to appear in person at a mutually agreeable time and place. We are seriously considering the offer but must ensure Mr Assange’s protection is guaranteed,” Jennifer Robinson, a member of Assange’s legal team, told CNN.
