Default Frickin' KIDDIE CAMP... Not Like It Was Back in 1979...

Post Vietnam military basic training was a little bit different back in 1979 than it is now. My old service manager from Reno Harley Davidson just had his daughter complete AF basic, and she said they call the new barrack's DISNEYLAND, and AF basic training now has SENSITIVITY sessions... well what a load of SHIT. They SCREAMED at us, SWORE at us, did everything but kick our ass... now... hell I could go through this fairy BS and I'm SIXTY THREE... what is the military coming to? Are they training soldiers or pussies? Do they think the enemy is going to be concerned with their FEELINGS if they're captured? This is what happens when LIBERALS infiltrate, and they sure as hell have infiltrated the military... everybody is walking around in this video like it's a freakin' HOLIDAY... this crap looks like the BOY SCOUTS, not the military...

If your DI/DS didn't spend most of his/her time looking like this:

You didn't go to boot/basic - you went to day camp.
“… the greatest detractor from high performance is fear: fear that you are not prepared, fear that you are in over your head, fear that you are not worthy, and ultimately, fear of failure. If you can eliminate that fear—not through arrogance or just wishing difficulties away, but through hard work and preparation—you will put yourself in an incredibly powerful position to take on the challenges you face" - Pete Carroll.

That's what the AF TI's looked like back in '79.

Except for lack of sleep, I thought Basic back in 1978 was fairly easy compared
to college football with practice twice a day, classes in between - plus, being a Phys Ed and English
major, I had physical 'activity' during the day time.

The rest in Basic was mental control.

Dad told me that the USCG Basic Training was second only to the USMC
in toughness. He was a WWII, Korea, and 'Nam Vet.

We never had 'Time Out' cards in football, nor at at all in Basic.
I scoffed at that idea. You do not call "Time Out" on a treacherous SAR Case!
You do not call "Time Out" on a buoy deck while swinging 20 ton buoys or sinkers
    on board.
You do not call "Time Out" on Anchor Detail, nor do you do it on
a towing evolution, or mooring, un-mooring the ship.

That is what Safety Observers do with a loud call of "Silence"!

I have lost my mind. If found, please give it a snack and return it?

Yeah, but I recall clearly our Gunny taking a first look at us and turning away in disgust asking "Jesus H Christ ... am I supposed to perform f-ing miracles, or what? WTF am I supposed to do with THIS (indicating us)?"
