Military..Families..Holidays...
I am not sure about others, but when I was single, I would regularly take
Holiday duty or watches from the married folk that had a wife and little ones.
If where I was stationed and the facility closed, I would take emergency recall
notifications from the married folk.
Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and Easter are special to a family.
So, when single, I would call the ones scheduled those days and tell
them to stay home and I would cover.
When I got married and with a kid, I laid off of that.
But when Neil got older, I would do it again to release the ones with
family, explaining to him we could celebrate a day or so after,
that it was the thought of a holiday that counted, not just 'The Day'.
That makes a huge impact on the brotherhood we had as Military members,
and they were all willing to stand for me if I was in a tight situation at home.
Bless One and All Vets, and Family.
I have lost my mind. If found, please give it a snack and return it?
