Raven Speak Not To Me, For A Plague Flees Thy Lips

Sadness came, in clumps of ripping hard, smashing waves
as if morbid thoughts could such sorrows ever save,
none but the blind and deaf could know a darker realm
or more lost ship with, blinder captain at the helm.
Yet even in such pains, one must seek out the Light
for the blind can see, if they embrace truest of sight!

Wayfarer now in hideous ancient abodes
mind burning flames, blasts of misery that explodes,
born of the vile demons that plagued Master Poe
from fiery depths they sprang, as savage and dark foe.
What greater black-curse can one thus be forced to bear
or evil that sends monsters that nightly scare?

Raven speak not to me! For plague flees thy lips
weeping soul, prays not to enter such ghastly trips,
save your epic lashings and thy horrific calls
as well as scalding-hot brands from thy torture halls.
We that saw deepest pains, you once sent Master Poe
enter not chambers or beg more accursed shows!

Your friends attack, forcing each soul to further flee
from hell's first dark levels, with its pitiful pleas,
into caverns wicked, filled with flesh eating beasts
with each new arrival cry, more food for our feasts.
Sirens lure fleeing lost souls into black-sea pits
always seeking, more blood, deeper cuts, harder hits!

Raven, thy terror-nights will soon come to end
for in bright flooding lights, I have found a new friend,
stalwart ally, armed with more than long sharp teeth
one whose true faith, will silence thy calls from beneath.
Dawn's shimmering lights, you shall plague me no more
I bow to he, his powers seals your wicked door!

    `He’s a dirty ass BMXer
    From New Hampshire
And she was a cam whore
    From Santa Barbara,
    We all knew where this
    Was gonna go

If I die with a beautiful
    Woman massaging my body,
    I have won, and I don’t care
    What the final consensus is

    Electric heater on the ground,
    Another sip of vodka
And a pilsner in my hand,
    It was officially December
    And nothing had changed
    Except my ever-deteriorating
    Attitude towards everything

Another rip from that dirty bong,
    Another pledge that you’d finally
Go to the dentist and get that
    Thing checked out

    It’s dangerous being a man
    In these times, period
    But that’s just the proverbial
Roll of the dice, so okay,
    I’ll handle it, motherfuckers,
    When I have the time

    Mueller will become the
    Face of criminal injustice
    And the all-consuming force
    That eventually tramples
    Every innocent man down
    And every other disgusting
    Sex tourist

    I don’t like the snow
    And you don’t like
    Anything else

    Drunken musings into the
    Malfeasance of oblivion
Say hi to Charo for me................`

    .............................

    Sinister!!

you got hard on my misery
    masturbated to my torment
when weakness brought me to my knees
your evil laughter gave me whiplash

you sought to buy me for the night
    with platitudes
    like a cheap whore
you picked up off the streets

    you raped my faith
then forced me to wear it
a dirty dress you ejaculated on

    my shame brought you pleasure
    you gloried in my sin
    and gorged on my guilt

    in the depths, I fell
then rose to truly see you
    while in my mourning times
I forgot who you really are

    with an appetite for depravity
you feed off my plate of pain
    you're the devil

then without even a hint of regret
you place me in a pit of demons
    lust glowing in your eyes

    you watch on
    while I burn in it

    THE SHARPER THE STAKE

It’s been eons since I last tasted your lips
The deadly seduction of your winter wisp
From the heart of darkness, the blackest eclipse
You poisoned me with a love so true
So that I may feed on the blood with you
Desire incarnate etched in the veil of the abyss

    From whence we kissed

I writhe with the plague you placed on this phage
Killing confessions I scribe on the page
    Murderous intents, thunderous laments
Whispered in the night that I can’t resist
I’m honed to the edge, dungeons and your bed
Hanging with despair and the recently dead

So, shall we curse the day?
    Desecration of the grave
Scream my name in godless vain
    And we’ll tap another vein

    What have I become?
    In pleasure and pain
    More tender the heart
    The sharper the stake

My ivory ghast is doomed in the fast
Between dawn and dusk and curses long past
But my obsession of your dominion
    Echoes across your mordant possession
I know I am blessed for the blood ‘cross your breasts
Was a wetwork of art from your caress

Drag me down at dawn in your coffin, my dear
We can taste immortality’s crimson tears
Sanctified and crucified because of fear
You were once the devil’s concubine
Now thrice cursed upon a time you are mine
Infernal incarnate chiseled on the wall of the revered

    The scarlet smear

So, shall we curse the day?
    Desecration of the grave
Scream my name in godless vain
    And we’ll tap another vein

    What have I become?
    In pleasure and pain

    More tender the heart
    The sharper the stake

    GOD CANNOT OFFER BETTER SALVATION
    THAN YOUR BITTER SWEET DAMNATION

So, shall we curse the day?
    Desecration of the grave
Scream my name in godless vain
    And we’ll tap another vein

    What have I become?
    In pleasure and pain
    More tender the heart
    The sharper the stake ....

The Reality, Deep Betrayal, The Dark War,
    (Part One)

They were shadows of Raven King and I
cloaked in raiments* of shimmering black gold
born of dust, river Styx and seeping sky
    comrades of mystical tales retold
Each with armor soaked red in human blood
strong arms formed with Herculean power
razor clawed feet formed from Hade's foulest mud
evil hearts burning with fiery showers!

Sworn to record trips to other abodes
sporting daggers that drip with poison sweet
savage guard dogs, on wicked paths we rode
awaiting victims bones, treasures to eat
Elven armor*, no mortal blade may pierce
they that relish echoes of dying pleas
no other beasts as vicious or as fierce
not even great white sharks of deepest seas!

Betrayal that night my time had foretold
as Raven King set both to take my life
smitten by my darling, Love's depths took hold
I was cursed into Hade's life of strife.
Lost to be soul saved by stroke of Poe's pen
sincere friendship my loyalty his boon
wisdom, mercy greater than other men
promised by Poe, my freedom very soon!

Raven King fearful of such a great vow
raised legions of fallen warriors up
with knowledge, to him Poe would never bow
nor again drink from their lost friendship's cup
Even such strength Raven King dare not trust
for legendary, powers of Poe's ink
victory Raven King knew was a must
even unto his great friend's death he'd sink!

Note: In tribute to Edgar Allen Poe, his legendary
dark power, born from magnificent imagination,
immense insight into the nature of man, his fears,
and the reality that the DARK is there , daring
one to enter if they but dare to do so. Poe did
so enter and his death may have came about because
he never escaped its evil grasp, its immense power
to destroy, especially so, poets that may venture
in far, far too deep! Never venture past the first door...

Edit-- TRULY sad that so many poets today neither care for or even understand that almost all dark poetry is about-- is-- the poet exercising their imagination and doing so to entertain. Which is no more, no less than what JRR TOLKIEN did and so is very celebrated and immensely famous for, as well as is Edgar Allen Poe..
MODERN POETRY frowns upon such creativity, such poems and in doing so encourages the mundane ramblings of so much modern verse.
My opinion is that they do this to embrace and even enhance the chaotic ramblings of the increased masses that are engaging in writings "they" call poetry.
Poetry is key to Literature and its importance as Art.
Yet in today's world, poetry is being re-classed into some lower form in order to include the masses as great and talented authors.
To do that, those ruling over poetry since the 50's have steadily downgraded the golden poets of old and lauded the modern poets as being their superiors!!!!
A sickening action by those that are envious of the past poets that are truly legendary( poetic geniuses), IMHO. -Tyr

Captured In Raven's Realm Before Poe Found It,

Part Two ( Predecessor that later spawned the series titled,
"Darkness Where Now Poe And Raven Reside")

In that ancient cave, I hid my sad, dark guilt,
left my bloody dagger red up to its gold hilt
defeated prince lay dying, with last gasping breath
    he swore dark curses before his horrific death;
no lover shall you ever find, nor calming peace
after your death, this curse will not your soul release!

Raven cast wicked smile, his eyes fiery grew
saying, yes that was my faithful servant you slew
now here in my majestic realm you have been brought
    and forever in my grasp your soul has been caught;
from our blackest abyss, no freedom shall you gain
for in this hell, awaits terrors and aching pains!

Seated on golden throne, Raven his commands cast
all tortures, blood curdling evil, I stood aghast
with glaring red eyes, merciless and bitter cold
    Raven punished all be they handsome, brave or bold;
and from his wicked grins, one saw his monstrous glee
knowing hopeless sad truth, there was nowhere to flee!

On hot bloody covered floor, I fell to implore
to any God listening, help I can take no more
in return I got laughter from rooms all around
    and then some foul new beastly roars, moving inbound;
Raven spoke, cease crying, that I can not abide
on earth you had your youthful fun, your lustful ride!

Now when the blackstone piper you must surely pay
you craven little coward, fall to beg and pray
Such has now increased pain my minions will inflict
    such is first standard in our torturing edicts;
with that comes added, your lover to be burned
for in our splendor, we teach others how to learn!

Dancing In Horror With Fate In Blackest Abyss
    Collaboration with Kurt Ravidas

I walk mountain storm, step out to cut deep its edge
forever tempting that fall from its narrow ledge,
in the midst of ravenous rage and great sorrows
    this beseeching spirit begs for more tomorrows;
yet as silence echoes from tumultuous skies
there is that cold ache telling me heaven denies!

I wade dark poison seas, with heart's pains in my head
begging night's deep cutting shadows leave my cold bed,
from walls revealing hellish pits in dark abodes
    comes a beast, in its clawed hands agony it holds;
shrieking, it pushes epic sorrows down my throat
it surrounds my bed with its poison snake filled moat!

I follow, trails into oblivion's black lairs
weaving my own red blood into finely spun snares,
with decaying memories as forgotten host
dancing in tune with Fate's blackest accursed ghost,
as fading calls beg me to wake, seek my retreat
Raven smiles, summons me forth to its sweet bride meet!

I cross the edge between the living and the dead.
O, Raven, spread your wings and lead the way ahead
through the sulphureous and bottomless abyss
where ghosts of paramours lament for their lost bliss
into each other's arms and echo of the vows
of love fade slowly out in their postmortem drowse.

I pass through Hades which no mortals ever passed
What mortals! Belphegor itself would be aghast
at just a thought to look into the narrow eyes
of the primordial chaos and fear. Here dies
last light: a shine of stellas, a brilliance of trope,
a glow of mind, a blaze of love, a ray of hope.

"You came a long way," Raven smiles again. "Behold
your true and only ladylove". And then my world -
the hell, the darkness, the despondency, the fright -
exploded like a supernova, and the light
was so intense that all the words are not enough
to turn it dark again… And it was you, my love.

Alas! Exists no words to express how I feel
is this just a dream or is it flesh and blood real
epic shock, was a lightning bolt sent through my veins
then Raven spoke, "I hold her because of your stains,
come child, watch as I make her cry out in sweet pain,
such is punishment for your youthful, evil gains"!

I falling down, then broke into total despair
from seeing my love chained, with red-soaked hair
not then knowing the red was only red grape wine
the threat was her sacrifice on which beasts would dine
I could plainly see the immense fear in her eyes
and with greatest anguish, hear her loud moaning cries!

Raven spoke, " Please how do you like my newest bride"?
I see your breaking heart, such pain can not you hide
now ask her if to save your life, me she will wed
or else on my command, this week, you will be dead
With that threat, I begged her, to please let me die
as I watched tears rain down from her sad blue eyes.

O, dream, the creature from the darkness, the minion
of the inferno that extends its dominion
to the most distant nooks and crannies of my mind!
Woe is me! Even in my dreams I cannot find
oblivion, sleep of the dead. Upon the earth
there is no place for me to hide from the dream’s curse.

Nightmare! I rue the night and its infernal mare
your ruthless torturer rides. I hear, over there,
in darkness of my brain, your harrowing chains clank!
blood drip! you ? cry in pain!.. I know it’s just a blank,
a void, a nothingness that plays its hellish game
with me, but my torn to shreds heart bleeds all the same.

O, skies and hells! How can I stop this endless dream?
I howl at the uncaring Luna, I blaspheme,
I write the poems, I go mad, I go astray,
I cry, I drink myself to death, I curse, I pray
Nor devils from the deep, nor angels from above,
alas, don’t listen to my plea and curse, my love.

Note: My great friend, has been a true and sincere honor to compose
this dark tale with you. Your creativity, poetic insight into the
world of words, horrors and apathy in the dark realm that haunts
humanity and gifts our deepest fears, our most agonizing sorrows
and frets truly awes me so. You have both my deepest appreciation
and my sincerest thanks. God bless.....

He that invaded my realm, broke my trusty pen
was a beast of Darkness, en-slaver of brave men
titan of cruelty, author of my defeat
sent forth by Raven, to this despondent heart eat.
With soft whisper, set a glass-splinter in mine eye
vowing greater pain until I would beg to die!

It spoke to Raven, while under its claw I rest,
punishing this poet fool, I do with great zest
Master, he has no power with his pen now broke
you told me he was brave, I see only a joke.
Pray tell, what weapon send him, to give him a chance
perhaps golden shoes so in defeat he may dance!

Raven unseen, sent down most devilish command
find his lover, torture her, cut off her right hand
make him watch, while chained to evil's first heartbreak stone
leave him begging to die in that dark pit alone.
I order you, do as your dark master decrees
gift regrets, make his despair live eternities!

Agony, then a sound gave some bit of relief
for it whispered, I am freed from my great grief
hold on, as I plow the dark to come to your aid
for your friendship, remember the vow I once made.
Know this truth, my verse lives on- my pen is my blade
Annabel sends Raven, her ruby cloak as trade!

In shock, aching brain knew this must be Master Poe
for none other would such brave, valiant courage show
and his dear Annabel sent her prized ruby cloak
for its mighty magic could any love-fire stoke.
But why would Raven above all, it now desire
does not Raven ever, from its vengeance tire?

From That Dark, Dark Abyss, The Long Black Curtain Rises
(Written for the third poet in my poet dedication series)

Curtain rises and we see as Raven's prisoner old Master Poe
chained to his room, held captive to Raven's powers thus show
down in that dark realm, where blood, doom and gloom reign
all is misery, sad loss and never is there anything to gain.
From its throne flies the Raven to start its weekly grand treat
as Raven's prison guards knock old Master Poe off his feet
then Raven transform back into the mighty Ravenking
turns human, with heartless ire at Master Poe's head flings
the ruby-red ring that he once gave to beautiful Annabel Lee
and her blood-stained scarf for pitiful cursed Master Poe to see!

With a wave of his hands, guards then bring in Annabel Lee
she has been beaten, cut deep and bound so she can not flee
her beauty yet glows tho' her heart has been sorely battered
her grace yet lives, tho' her clothes are all torn and tattered.
One can see sorrows in her eyes as at Master Poe she looks
for their great romance and its sad tragedy was one for the books
gasping at his fallen state, she cries out her true and deep love
it is at that very moment Ravenking gives her a hard shove
as her frail body hits that hard stone floor with a loud thud
out pours her screaming moans, along with more red, red blood.

Master Poe rises and yet again does as he has been told
reads aloud verses, that for his great fame, his soul he had sold
horror's theater now has its usual weekly crowd filtered on in
from graves they rose, Ravenking rules them too, for their sins.
Eager for more, they chanted, make Master Poe recite and dance
verses about his former earthen life and his sad doomed romance
we never tire of his loud cries, his misery and his aching pains
for he is no better than we with our own dark, guilty and bloody stains
Then Master Poe does just as Ravenking with angry voice commands
for all there are his prisoners and all of this, his hell given lands!

With tears falling, the prisoner now recites for agonizing hours
beguiling that hideous crowd with his magnificent poetry showers
every verse a shining gem and every poem a marvelous creation
all rendered from greatest talent, of our world's top poet's station.
Finally taking a breather, Master Poe asks for water to drink
tho' his old heart was breaking, he needed a short pause to think
how he could convince Ravenking not to again torture his dear love
not to beat her and slash her face again with his thorn laced glove
with all the guile he could muster, he uttered, she is nothing to me
were it not for her and her love, I would now be long dead and free!

Hearing such words cried out and with such hard booming contempt
Ravenking ordered, take her away, from all torture she is now exempt
turning to Master Poe, he asked, old friend why the change of heart
have I now broken you and torn your weary and cursed soul apart.
Shall we test this and find out if this great transformation is true
remember your solemn oath, your sworn vow, how I cleverly trapped you
guards bring her back, we shall see if his heart has turned to stone
she dies, if Poe dares utters a word as I break a few of her bones
dragging her back, her heavy chains are then quickly stripped away
nobody heard the prayers that old Master Poe then began to pray.

O'lord, forgive me my sins and my accursed seeking of glory and fame
I now know, such was my downfall, as sure as all Poetry knows my name
yes Lord, your warnings I choose to ignore to gain fame and treasure
it cost us Love's truth, gave blood, doom and gloom in equal measure.
I beg you, with your power stop cruel torture, this savage brutal display
for there is no great price that I will not right happily agree to pay
and even unto my death if that be your decision and your divine will
instead of her, let his evil hands my blood, my guts, this night spill
I beseech you, I pray this great mercy, its honor and saving grace
from this hideous old demon, remove my Annabel Lee, her every trace!

Ravenking finally taking notice, hearing old Master Poe's request
laughed that wicked laugh and shouted out -is that, is it your best
that you moan and with futility pray when I have you curse bound
for 'tis I, that gave all the glory and fame your sorry soul ever found.
Ask, but know this, nobody here ever rules over me the mighty Ravenking
for here my powers are absolute and here for every crumb all must sing
here all are condemned and here none may ever leave, all shall remain
such is punishment for greed, lusts and all glory they sought to gain
so now that you have had your pitiful little useless human pleas
you watch, as I break her frail bones by the two's, even by the three's!

At that moment the curtain slowing moved and then it slowing fell
a rustle, a low creak as from behind it a demon strolled out to tell
Act One has now ended, please stay in your seats, soon comes Act Two
Ravenking has promised, it too will be dark and bloody through and through.
In keeping with old Master Poe's legendary image we am to please
so enjoy the show, its horrors and sit back for more at your sweet ease
for none would dare want to miss the gruesome scenes from the next Act
as our wicked show has now only just begun and that is a solid gold fact
Ravenking has brought some friends, fresh from Hades's pits, now unbound
you will be rewarded by their victims and their new agonizing loud sounds!

Act Two, waits from an old and very tired poet to write its dark evil verses
his knowledge of this dark world, just may shed more Light on its many curses
should his poet pen falter and leave you in state of confusion and suspense
remember this, Master Poe's curse, the Raven, the Ravenking are only pretence.
Know Poe's magnificent writings came from genius, inked-sweat from his brow
tho' we may sincerely try gaining fame, its elusive treasures, so few know how
yet our famous old Master Poe has his and truly none can ever take that away
if one reads his fantastic and golden verses, they just may find their own way
just be careful and never make deals that may the dark Ravenking give control
over your heart, mind, life and definitely not your Heaven promised mortal soul!

Facing The Darkest Dragon, The Hero Questions,
    Part One

O' harbinger of grief, what plague does thy hand bring
in thy long cart, sharp clawed grasp and deep filthy curse
Lo! Thy wicked voice, its great destruction doth sing
wrecking cities, with disease and oft even worse !

O' death deliverer, of demonic born trails
soon falls miseries from thy wasting and dark words
Thy hand quickly opens to victims unholy hells
amidst thronging crowds, life's slow unrepentant herds!

O' curse of innocence, why hast thy hammer fell
with its accursed blows breaking hope and sad want
From turmoil, calamitous lies thy foul mouth tells
as in midnight chants thy monstrous allies do taunt!

O' creator of hurt, does not thy blacken soul tire
from hurling abominations and evil glee
Does thee never feareth true Light's eventual ire
from its mercies, thy casting on thy own fires!

Within Hellish Abyss, Sounds Serpent's Hiss,
    Part One

Some tales he admires, considers so great,
in that clear vein, he does not hesitate.
Writing as madman, pen splashing hot ink,
there his mind and his poetic heart sink.

Sometimes fast and furious as pen flies,
born of deepest pain, as huge tears he cries
Despair, verses come as if from master Poe
then his joy arrives, his art starts to show.

Darkness invades and flesh is cut by blades,
    amidst scattering of blacken tirades.
Within hellish abyss, sounds serpent's hiss
all set into a very Poe-like kiss.

Waiting for Poe to cast another verse,
raven curses, his soul sets to rehearse
Lines that eat into dark, its hellish pits
inspiration enfolds his deep inked fits.

World seethes into darkest of evil dark,
    nothing matters except poetic marks.
His heart raging in blackest of hard blacks
he writes, before his Poe-etic trance cracks.

Some tales he admires, considers so great,
in that clear vein, he does not hesitate.
Writing as madman, pen splashing hot ink,
there his mind and his poetic heart sink.

Within Hellish Abyss, Sounds Serpent's Hiss,
    Part Two

As Poe'sque verses come demons surround,
night hours break into loud hideous sounds.
With claws and long fangs thirsting for warm blood,
more beasts appear in a torrential flood.

Yet nothing can stop pen and its dark ink,
for deep in poetic dark, poet sinks.
In distant pits of hell, flames rise and roar,
as lost mortals seek to even old scores.

Pen recharges onto paper that begs,
as if it had marathon running legs
For now master Poe's image had arrived,
uttering these bold words, "I have survived"!

More verses pour from his cracked and parched lips,
on pain, death, heartbreak, ancient sunken ships.
Sailors wailing as dark waters they drank,
and into dooming depths bodies thus sank.

Poe calls out warning, "my stay may be brief",
poet cries, "faster pen, give me relief".
"Obey this order, least my black mist leaves,
express these scenes for master Poe so grieves".

Demons moan, wanting black and darker still,
as their wickedness begs more savage thrills.
    Magnificent master Poe again speaks,
"waste not these hours, Raven's power soon peaks"!

Decided to bring these out into the light of day.
I am sad to see that in modern poetry--that
dark poetry is by and large being shunned as if it is
somehow, someway a less meaningful , less artful
expression of true poetic imagination, creativity,
deeper thought and not completely capable of expressing
all that the other poetry forms express.-Tyr

Within Hellish Abyss, Sounds Serpent's Hiss,
    Part Three

To avert from setting sun, transfixed gaze
from such entrapments, wake I in a haze
Scenes of awe in pigments of reddish hues
time there, centuries spent searching for clues!

Mesmerizing dance, prelude to Night's host
appears apparition of Poe's pale ghost
Repetition set of true poet's heart
ghoulish scenery cast forth at the start.

    Alas! Admiration forces this trek
its terrors horrible and raw nerves wreck
Yet to hear Poe's new verses as he speak
soothes addicted heart, makes my knees grow weak!

All so wondrous until the beasts appear
then my old soul wakes to darkness and fear
For cast in to Poe's visit is black rage
to destroy brilliance of this poet sage.

Moans and groans, echo in this horrid realm
Poe himself bows to monster at the helm
I stand so still, hoping to not be seen
as oft my stomach turns, my face goes green.

As more foul creatures walk into this room
soon comes the hellish smell of blacken doom
Stench increases as Poe ends his great words
then enters more of the bloodsucking herds!

That feeling of dawn's soon to come bright rays
tells me soon, evil will its guise betray
Master Poe will be clawed red, as before
as his body is cast through the red door!

That moment my prayer escapes my lips
I beg God to please save these sinking ships
Cast that monstrous beast in far deeper still
and not let its servants our dear Poe kill!

Darkness Where Now Poe And Raven Reside,
    ( Part One )

As the Raven cross into the dark pits
Those in torment went into heaving fits
Its shrieking calls, alarms even down there
Far worse its image to dying souls scare
With great trepidation some turned to Poe
Begging, master far away make it go
Poe only smiled, saying, come now my pet
I have far, far sweeter work for you yet.

As Raven lands on Poe's black-stone table
Spits out two bloody and half eaten hands
Asks, does this remind you of that fable
Promising keys to kingdom's treasured lands
Given to a man willing and able
Freeing princess, her captor's sword withstand
Where death's deeds and bloody might enables
Morbid masterpieces of art so grand.

From all around, their banter brought loud moans
From wretched sinners in that dark hell cast
Raven spoke in wicked, evil tones
I toyed with her, to make my pleasure last
Poe commanded, Raven, please no more of that
We are here to enjoy the pleasant scenes
And in our deep joy, grow lazy and fat
Let us not her poor soul thus so demean.

Raven again spoke, come now we need pain
And louder wailing that soothes a black heart
For what good is torture if has no gain
Or tearful pleadings that come as it starts
Master, order yon' demon band to play
For I shall fly above and watch you dance
Let us enjoy sadder cries on this day
With evil's first bride, a little romance.

Poe then rose to do as his pet wanted
Poe laughed and said, Raven dear, please be nice
Let not our blackened pride thus be flaunted
When bit better decorum would suffice.
With that he motioned demon band to play
Its favorite and first great monstrous hit
As waiting victims begged that they may
Have some relief from their torturous fits.

Darkness Where Now Poe And Raven Reside,
    (Part Two)

Song over, Poe told demon band to leave
And then pointed to the now empty stage
Wretched souls, look as thy lost spirit grieves
I present this new contest- all the rage
Blood and gore will flame your dark desires
Giving some respite from thy crying pleas
In dire conflict, comes death and fire
No weak romance, on love, birds and the bees

Suddenly cast there a hero alive!
In scant armor and flesh soaked in red blood
How this mere mortal had fought to survive
His legs covered in fresh, battlefield mud
Slow to rise, but so defiantly proud
His eyes gleaming with courage Heaven sent
Then yet another crash so very loud
From lightning, its power blasted and spent.

From that flash came a monstrous beast so great
With power from fangs and dagger-like claws
Dragon of massive scale, thick armor plate
Able to spew fire from massive jaws
At first glance it sighted the hero there
Bellowing out with its accursed breath
From thy flesh my claws will now rip and tear
until that mortal body meets thy death.

Alas! Thy foul breath has no greater foe
Its effects are horrendous unto me...
Yet there is more than even you beast know-
Stronger are roots from my ancestral tree
Send forth thy evil, hottest flaming blast
As my great shield in its glory holds true
Thy fate, thy end has now came at long last
This brighter new dawn, shall be your end too!

Master Poe laughed with his booming voice
Stepping back, giving their battle more room
Announcing this is my gift, my first choice
Entertaining you, pleasure seeing sweet doom
This hero, with mercy I gave his shield
And his scant armor to give him a chance
Battling to the death, neither can yield
Here comes blood and guts, no feeble romance!
