Default Well... With Any Luck I'll be Driving This Soon...

... I'm selling my GMC collector to a buddy of mine, and trading in the 2005 Suburban winter beater I bought... AND the Camaro. The thing is, I would love to have them ALL, but I have to be realistic here. I want to take more vacations out west and what not and not a one of the vehicles I have can I do that. The truck below is BRAND NEW, and is the pinnacle of the Chevy truck line. It has every available option plus an interior that looks like a Rolls Royce. My dealer is holding it for me and tomorrow we hammer out a deal. It's also got the huge 6.2 ltr, 420 hp engine... basically a truck tuned version of what's in the Camaro... can't wait...

    Nice!

I like the GMC version of it, The Sierra.

You could have really jazzed it up with a GMC; not sure about the Chevy one: Heated seats,
moon roof, towing package, 4WD, heated steering whee, and more.

    If only I could!

It's got all that and more. (Check out the link.) The seats are heated and air conditioned. This is top of the line. The GMC top of the line would be basically the exact same thing.

I'm expecting $37,425 trade in on the Camaro, $6,000 on the Suburban, and I'll have another $10,000 cash to put down on it. I should come out basically where I'm at on the balance of my Camaro loan.

    I'll be stylin'...

GMC has a heavier suspension....but if you do not need that, you don't need it.

Damn You! Make me jealous, though!

I don't mean to be contradictory, pard, but I'm a gear head... can you link to something to show that a GMC has heavier suspension. I'm curious...

Ya I'm stoked... I probably won't sleep much tonight because I'm pretty wound up about getting that truck.

    https://www.cjponyparts.com/resources/chevy-silverado-vs-gmc-sierra

They're saying on that website that they're basically the same, but the GMC has a more luxurious interior and additional features that don't come "standard" on the High Country? I'm skeptical of that, and I wish they'd say what those were, because as far as I knew, the Chevy High Country is supposed to come with the full monte... everything... and I can't imagine a more luxurious interior. I think that link just favors GMC. Judging by the pictures of the two, they look identical to me. But, I'm a Chevy guy forever, and I have a Chevy dealer near me and not a GMC dealer in sight, so Chevy it is.

Could be interpreted as such, I'm cool with that. I think the interior is awesome.

    Pics of interior please.

I'm a Ford guy. I like the king ranch so I am excited and intrigued. My dad is a dodge guy and I was upset when he passed up the longhorn edition.

My first post has a link to the truck on the dealer website, and has many interior picks.

I went over and drove it today, and I can unequivocally say, it's the nicest vehicle I've ever driven in my life, and probably the nicest interior also, but with a $61,610.00 price tag, it should be. But, there's rebates and a big sale special on right now so now really is the time to buy it, year end, 2019's on the lot, 2018's gotta go, and good thing for me, I think the 2019's are ugly. They put a swoopy feature in the front fenders that I think is just butt damn ugly. But, needless to say, I fell in love with it when I drove it, and so we were able to hammer out an acceptable deal. The salesman actually had to bring the sales manager out because I wouldn't budge, and I know damn well they want to sell the truck, so we haggled some more and I damn well haggled right down to the last $250, , but I'm happy with the deal. Yes I'll be sad to see the Camaro go, but that's the way it is. I'm not rich enough to afford $110,000 worth of brand new vehicles in the garage, one I can swing, two, not so much. I need this truck, that's all there is to it, and they don't come any nicer than this one, IMO. Tomorrow morning my friend is coming over to buy my GMC collector truck. I'll get him sent on his way and then head up and get the new High Country paid for. This thing basically has the same engine my Camaro has, a truck tuned, 420hp, 6.2 ltr, and has the same Magnetic Ride Sensing suspension. This truck will really scoot, so it's kinda the truck version of the Camaro...

“… the greatest detractor from high performance is fear: fear that you are not prepared, fear that you are in over your head, fear that you are not worthy, and ultimately, fear of failure. If you can eliminate that fear—not through arrogance or just wishing difficulties away, but through hard work and preparation—you will put yourself in an incredibly powerful position to take on the challenges you face" - Pete Carroll.

Well... it's not going to be PAID FOR yet, bro... a significant portion is going to be financed. But thankfully, yes, I can afford the monthly payments, but as I've mentioned before, it's thanks in large part to the cheap cost of living in Wisconsin. My mortgage payment on the ranch is only $473 a month. Who else here has a monthly rent/house payment that low? My rent on a one bedroom apartment and a separate garage almost 13 years ago in Reno was $875 a month. It's probably over $1,000 now. I probably wouldn't be driving this extraordinary, beautiful new truck if I still had to pay that.

I'm up pretty early this morning though, pretty excited about picking up the truck today.

I'll get ya more pics of the inside today when I bring it home. I think it's the prettiest truck interior I've ever seen. Course I'm partial to Chevys but, it does have that cowboy/country look to it, and I love that.
