    Default Need shower curtain advice

So.... dog likes to eat a lot of things, but that's for another day. But of concern right now is my shower curtain which needs replacing. I was hoping to find a "retractable" type if such a thing exists. Somehow it rolling up or sideways to get rid of it when not in use.

Anyone know of such a thing?

And yes, I also know of a thing called "Google", but as of yet not finding what I want.

I found out that rolling one up or pulling it to one side can cause mold to build up on it.
It is probably best to leave it fully open.

I did get one, however, that is machine washable to get rid of soap scum.
Warm wash on delicate cycle, then rehang while still wet.

I have lost my mind. If found, please give it a snack and return it?

    Yup.

I'm looking at folding glass doors or sliding... anything to prevent the dog from tearing or eating them with the regular curtains. EVEN IF I did try to just fold them or hide them -never mind the mold, she will find them and jump and tear it down anyway.

Yes, I know, training. Small steps here. She's nuts!

Is there a scent you can spray on it that he would hate enough to stay away, but you wouldn’t mind? Maybe a strong citrus? I’m sure Amazon sells dog repellent.

Hmmm... Had not thought of that. I can try it, I tried stuff like that before. But she's a determined pup when you're not at home. It's difficult to puppy protect your home - as the more things you protect, and place on higher ground, or hide - she just finds something new. At least it's not Nero!

Default Laugh if you want, but...this works well for us.

Get some Chlorox Bleach at the market. Pour small amount into an old Spray bottle (like an old Windex bottle) Clean out the bottle first.

Then, you can do this Inside, or Outside...with the curtain hanging...spray the entire surface that always gets wet.

Give it an hour, and ALL OF THE MOLD (black, and smell) will be A GONNER!

CAREFUL if you are allergic to Bleach.

We also have used TILEX, but you need lots of AIR in the room.

    Time to crate train.

I would imagine crate training is not going super well since huskies are prone to destroying crates.... and everything else. But its a sign of boredom, and the result of taking out bored frustration. Have you tried baby proofing a room for her ( put paneling or concrete on the lower walls she will eat sheet rock) give her a blanket and wall mounted tug toys that she can wrestle with, things to chew and something to chase? Make it like a big girl crate that she doesn't feel trapped in but with just enough stuff to keep her busy. I would also recommend either training her to walk on a tread mill or taking her for lots more long physical walk / run excursions before you leave her home alone. It takes a few years for a husky to slow down, so you have to keep that boundless energy tapped out. Again I would say a digging patch so that she can dig they LOVE to dig! and it would burn that energy much faster . I also recommend the Jolly Ball it has had a surprisingly long life at my house until it got lost..but it turns up every so often even still. For tennis balls the chuck it non fuzzy ones in various sizes the little ones are great for chasing around the room, the bigger ones are the best for playing fetch. No stupid fuzz all over because mine LOVE to peel that stuff off and then spend 20 minutes flossing with it.

I used to make Thunder, my old man, a spin toy out of an empty 2 liter soda bottle put a handful of yummy treats inside and let him work it over until he broke it then he got his treats and I took the bottle, I would put a couple small pin holes in it so he could smell his treats. When he was a young man he would play with that for an hour or better before he broke it chasing it all over because it spins away and they HAVE to get it.
