I think God made it very clear that it is an abomination, and I do believe that if you don't repent your sins, you will go to hell.
The Bible also says that the only way onto heaven is by the Son, to repent, and I don't think I'm wrong when I say most homosexuals are unrepentant of their sin.
One thing about the written word, there certainly is many ways to interpret what you read, and I think most people do.
You're a good guy, brother Darin, but I think we do have some basic differences in what we believe, and that's OK.
"hate the sin, love the sinner" is generally a license for christians to be awful. We do not have to hate sin. It's impossible to love somebody when one is so abrasive in their condemnation of behaviour.
So why is it christians do not believe all the bible? Why do christians believe only the parts they agree with? Why don't christians believe people deserve active love regardless of their sin; sin which was blatantly overcome through the cross? Why do christians believe christ/the bible was lying when it talks about christ already emptying hell? Why don't christians believe God's prophecy that we will love other humans as much or in the same way we love ourselves?
doesn't sound very christian.
“… the greatest detractor from high performance is fear: fear that you are not prepared, fear that you are in over your head, fear that you are not worthy, and ultimately, fear of failure. If you can eliminate that fear—not through arrogance or just wishing difficulties away, but through hard work and preparation—you will put yourself in an incredibly powerful position to take on the challenges you face" - Pete Carroll.
