Not even a subject given but will almost definitely be about the release of the Mueller report tomorrow with security redactions.

This is the dems and everyone on the left, their last chance to nail Trump. Why Petey is waiting things out, hoping for something in this to bite into and claim he wasn't wrong. The democrats are dying to get to this report to find and twist anything they can. Angry already that the AG of the USA will be giving a press conference with Rod Rosenstein, but would likely approve if it were Mueller. It's all so "extraordinary"! LOL

MSNBC Meltdown Over Barr Holding Mueller Report Press Conference

As news broke Wednesday afternoon that Attorney General William Barr would be holding a press conference Thursday morning on the release of the Mueller report, MSNBC reporters and pundits began rending their garments over the announcement. Anchor Nicolle Wallace and her panel of journalist guests denounced the Justice Department chief for the supposed outrage of planning to take questions from the press.

“This seems to me, and we don’t have this reported out just yet, to be a move that the President might think....will help shape the coverage of the Mueller report. This is extraordinary,” Wallace alarmingly declared as she reacted to the breaking news. Liberal Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson joined in the lamenting: “Yeah, it is extraordinary. But yeah, he wants to help – he wants to shape the coverage, he wants, as was said, to make it a partisan issue, and he wants to get out in front of it, if possible.”

Wallace warned:

But it’s no longer the Mueller report. It’s now the two guys, Barr and Rosenstein, who I’m told will join him, who put their finger on the scale and made the decision about obstruction that Mueller didn’t make, spinning the decision they made when they put the finger on the scale about obstruction, which Mueller wouldn’t do, the Mueller report. It’s no longer the release of the Mueller report, guys.

Moments later, she called the press conference an “extraordinary development” and talked about the Mueller investigation in religious terms: “But if the whole point was to take this sacred undertaking, the Mueller report, and release it as unredacted as they could, it seems to stomp all over any aims of being viewed as not involved in shaping that report, its end, its release, its spin, its perception to present it yourselves, no?”

Repeating her favorite phrase one more time, Wallace whined: “It’s extraordinary, though, this announcement made by Donald Trump in a radio interview that the country’s attorney general will present the 22-month-long Mueller investigation to the country.” She trashed Barr: “It’s just an extraordinary leap into not just the President’s political and legal prerogatives, I guess a leap Barr has already made. But to be a shill....he becomes the first cabinet secretary to plunge into the deep end of Trump’s conspiracy pool.”

Los Angeles Times White House reporter Eli Stokols agreed: “Right. And I think, you know, you want – if you want the public to take this report seriously and to believe that the Justice Department is credible, you would probably think twice about putting the head of the Justice Department out on TV to do spin for you.”

Though he at least had some self-awareness and sense of irony about the media complaining that Barr was going to speak to the media:

On Thursday morning ahead of the Mueller report’s release and after a press conference by Attorney General Bill Barr, CNN and it’s nine-person panel suffered a meltdown of biblical proportions, lashing out like Adam Schiff campaign workers at Barr’s “excessive and suspicious” “political commercial” offering “gratuitous statements” for the President and against the press.

Co-host Jake Tapper spoke before the panel of liberal analysts and journalists, setting the table by wondering “why did the attorney general do this” since “[w]e were told it was just to be transparent...but it actually was what the Democrats feared it would be, which was the attorney general getting out there and getting his narrative, his take on it as vigorously as possible.”

Chief legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin was the first to offer comments fit for a straight-jacket, asserting that Barr put on “an extraordinary political commercial for the President” that “was a discussion of the sympathy and the difficulty and the challenge that the President faced, and how not withstanding all of that, the White House cooperated” even though Trump was never interviewed in-person.

Legal and national security analyst Carrie Cordero was even more blunt (click “expand”):

I have to say, the attorney general had an opportunity this morning to rise above the politics and to adhere to institutional Justice Department just sticking to what the process was that he was supposed to talk about and which he said he was actually talking about, and he blew it. I mean, he just came out and to say that the President took, “no act that deprived the investigation of witnesses or documents,” when as Jeffrey just said, the President, like other presidents have in the past with investigations, been willing to be either — willing to be interviewed by the special counsel's team in addition to all the things the President tweeted against witnesses and people who were involved in the case that could potentially be taken by them as aggressive or intimidating. It's just not a true statement, what the attorney general said just now, and that piece, he should have stuck to the process because on the process, he actually is being consistent with his commitment to transparency.

In the A Block of MSNBC's Morning Joe on Thursday, co-host Joe Scarborough suggested that we need to reconsider how the attorney general is appointed. In the B Block, he got specific and also offered some other norm-busting proposals, all in the name of saving norms.

Scarborough's opposition to Attorney General William Barr led him to have, "been thinking about the attorney general position for quite some time." Barr's performance has been so awful, according to Scarborough, that he thinks the AG should be appointed for ten years, just like the FBI Director, or needs to be confirmed by a super-majority in the Senate. That position, while bad, because it would protect the Justice Department from accountability, were not even Scarborough's most outrageous suggestions.

Another one of his proposed "reforms" was to take the final say regarding classified information out of the hands of the President and put into that of the Intelligence Community. "If the president says it's not classified, then it's not classified. Wrong! That's the wrong answer!" Scarborough ranted. "And it's also wrong for the President of the United States to be a security risk when he's talking to Vladimir Putin."
