First of all, this should have happened two years ago. Which is why I still steadfastly believe that illegal immigration is really just something Trump is using to get votes rather than something he truly believes needs to be stopped. IOW he's being a typical politician.
Second of all, this is the sort o the thing Trump and his Administration need to start doing quietly, every time they announce something like this it gets the idiots on the left riled up and the lawsuits rolling in. Of course they don't do it quietly because again, their real goal is getting votes. They want their voters seeing them act tough

Think past Trump. First thing the next Dem President is going to do is open the gates. Trump can possibly win only once more. Then what?
There is no unity on the right. No rising stars. No Trump follower that is going to follow him. There is no consolidated voting bloc on the right.
Trump is an anomaly. Once he's gone, it's back to same old, same old Republican'ts. There's no long-term strategy on the right and winning battles doesn't win the war.
