Robert, I want to publicly thank you for inspiring me to write creatively with your enthusiasm and support.

I had written a tiny bit of poetry as a child, and then nothing more until that one Haiku written in Maine about 10 years ago. As I've mentioned, I once earned a living doing technical writing about computer software, and I am very comfortable in that genre. I hadn't thought that I could be creative in this way (or any way, truth be told).

Anyway, I am actually finding it to be fun! And it had the unexpected side effect of nudging me to look at my life on a very different level. On a deeper and also a more surface- observational level at the same time. Macro and micro, if that makes sense. Now I understand that isn't a side effect at all; it is actually what I think poetry is really all about.

Thank you my friend for your wonderful thank you note. It is I that must thank you for not only your friendship but also your support of my poetry and the beautiful inspiration thus given by the generous gift!
Especially so the many inspired poems that precious gift has led me to compose.....
Such kindness, poetic insight goes admirably well with your innate poetic talents that you having now fully found, can now share with the world my friend.

Where A Treasured Stream Was Found

May your cup fill and pen never run dry,
Sweet raindrops fall from your poetic skies.
You harvest verse-crops bountiful and new,
Happiness in blessed Life well treat you,
In heart, God, your light illuminate true
Your poems may come, tho a bit overdue.

Yes I did create this new poetry form.

    STORMY MOMENTS

    Pitter patter rain drops
    Scattering over hood, windows
    Thump, thump of wipers hypnotize
    Sleepy eyes surprised, bright
    Lightning, booming thunder, freshness

My friend, that is topflight poetry by any true measure of its values, depths, beauty, importance to mankind, message,
and its well proven power to help, console ,inspire, enlighten, speak truth, entertain and gift to others..-Tyr

Who is the person that can't find peace
Who is the person that can't find joy
Who is the person that can't find them self
Who is the person that can't find a toy

Sad is the day when someone is lonely
    It really shouldn't be
They're only lonely in their mind
But their mind can set them free

Sad are people lonely among others
When there's lots of souls around them
They're surrounded by others but none are holy
To all of those they condemn

Such is life for many of us
We walk though it bravely without fear
For it us our own soul we should consider
And our own soul that shall not shed a tear

My newest poem written in Lind68868 poetry form.-- Tyr

Posting this blog to inform those entering Dear Heart's new contest, which requires writing in my new poetry form Lind68868
    Blog Posted:5/15/2019 7:53:00 AM
Posting this blog to inform those entering Dear Heart's new contest , which requires writing in my new poetry form Lind68868- as previously I had given no example of it when any of the three was done in rhyme.

This, Tragic As A Shakespeare Play,
    Lind68868 Rhyme

    heartache, she went away
pain gnawing knowing, this was it
we had said all there was to say
    my bottom lip I bit
this, tragic as a Shakespeare play

    Robert J. Lindley, 5-15-2019
    Lind68868, (Rhyme)
Example (1.) a living scene written in - Rhyme.

    29 words
    36 syllables
    146 characters

Note-- Not for any contest, but given as an example of the new poetry form when done in, Rhyme..
A living scene,(not a dream) or (a comparative thought)because I experienced exactly that with the end of my first marriage.. Sad but true my friends...
And yes, because of the last verse it could also be classed in the "comparative thought" choice. However, the choice belongs to the author.
And I wrote it as- " a living scene", and in rhyme.

Note- I had to class this as a *Rhyme*, because Soup has no listing for my new poetry form, Lind68868.
I recommend using for syllable count verification this, the best one on the internet.

Good luck to one all all entering DearHeart's new contest..Copyright
