    That looked neat. I hate flying and have to wonder how he navigated.
    GPS most likely.

    Okay @Drummond let's get an expert in here. Does one lose sight of land crossing the English Channel? In the air?

    Just thinking any real navigation skills might not be required.

    A 6 ft tall person on the shoreline has a visible horizon of about 2 1/2 nautical miles.

    Going by the delineation tables, he would have had to be about 10,000 feet up.
